TcL 75s425
Amazon has it for $750.
75" 4k UHD w/ HDR Roku TV 2160p 3 HDMI I think
I'm not a purist. I'd love OLED or QLED or whatever but not interested in putting out 2 grand.
Had a 52" Sharp I was fine with for like 8 years. It died. Time to upgrade. Am i upgrading significantly? I think i am without blowing a wad.
$750 for a 4k 75" seems like a damn good deal.
Anyone own this and can comment? I value your guys opinions.
Little bit of PS4 gaming like Madden, Battlefield, COD etc. Netflix and DTV is all I'm really after using it for.
I don't want buyers remorse. Just wanna enjoy TV.
Little help?
Danke!!
I've brought home myself 2 60" TVs and had nightmare screen damage issues right out of the box.
Just want someone to deliver it in good shape and Amazon does it for free. So that helps
But I doubt 75 in is going in the bedroom in your case. For $750 I don't think you can go wrong..
Might be worth a shot to call 888-BEST-BUY and say you would like the memorial day sale pricing. They may match for you. Got the 75q825 for $1599 and the 65r625 for $549.
As others have posted, I would encourage you to go for the better picture over a little more size as the TCL TVs are (comparatively) not that expensive which is part of the draw so it's not like you are laying out thousands for the quality boost. And seeing really nice 4K content on a big TV is really impressive (whereas a big TV with a mediocre picture really doesn't hold up).
TCL also has (as other have noted) a really nice ROKU interface which I definitely appreciate. Very easy to use.
One other comment: regardless of the TV you buy, you should consider getting a soundbar or seperate speakers. I did it with mine (I got a soundbar and wireless sub woofer). As the TVs have gotten thinner and thinner, so have the speakers and the sound quality suffers. A relatively modest speaker upgrade makes a pretty hefty difference in the experience.
Good luck!
I'll 2nd Rtings.com
Sounds like it could be a go.
Thx for BJs reference, but I'm in southern california, so not an option. Costco might be, but Amazon seems to be the delivery option for this 75".
I considered the 6 series and am still. And I'm sure it's improved. But I gotta look at 750 v. 1200
50% more sunk cost, is it 50% better? If I put them side by side and can only notice a slightly better experience upon real close inspection... not sure I could justify the 50% more. Now if side by side I was blown away? Sure, no problem.
Seems like most, not all TCL owners have been fairly positive on the experience. Here and my online research. Thx again
No TV within 250 miles of my location
Was all I kept getting. Unsmiley face
Sounds like it could be a go.

have you ordered a TV online before? I've had issues with TVs arriving damaged. Eventually one will arrive w/o issue, but it might take some time
So I've decided to go the free delivery route. Cross my fingers and try try try until it works out lol.
Re: the extra 600 for UED benefits and frivolous purchases. Well, it's suppose to be a boost to the economy right? So if all those people are buying tvs with their UED benefits, then I guess it's working?
When the TCL was working I had it next to a 55" Samsung for football and the picture quality isn't even close. With how cheap TVs are these days I would spring for a better brand. TCLs are cheap for a reason.
I read, heard, watched alot about the 6 series but come on... it's 50% more expensive. Is it even 10% better? 15%? Certainly not 50% better.
Anyways, went thru Best Buy who will free deliver it and bring it right upstairs. I wonder, I didnt pay for setup etc. I'm trying to save money, why am I gonna spend $150 to do what I can do?
I wonder though. Think they will let me open the box and plug it in just to see that the screen isn't crap?
Last 2 big screens i got home and their screens looked like a Picasso painting.
Now I gotta buy a gaming PC. Been watching build videos for like 6 months. Time to test the knowledge.
