Bad year, but great moment for Phil Simms.

In 1991, visiting Tampa Bay for the first time since Super Bowl XXV, the #NYGiants were tied late in the game against the Bucs. @PhilSimmsQB came off the bench to replace Hostetler who was injured earlier and Simms would hit Stephen "TD Maker" Baker late for the win #GiantsPride

That's amazing! You only missed two games in 35 years?

nor the '98 win over the Broncos, only two games I've missed in 35+ years.

Shit, I actually missed the home game vs the Redskins in 2018 too, had to watch on DVR that night. Otherwise, the last season I missed any other games was 1983. It's going to get much harder now with a little dude at home though.
In hindsight I guess they could have been cheering the fact that Simms was warming up on the sidelines. But the cheers came when Hoss was still lying on the ground.

Yeah, I thought it was all about Phil. Hoss helped to bring us a title there only 10 months before
I also remember reading articles about the game, that when Simms came in, he looked "old and rusty", many of the same reasons he lost his job. But he did rally when it counted!
They were still kinda new to the whole NFL thing...maybe
I have been to a ton of games including playoffs and the Super Bowl....the 98 Broncos game was amazing to see in person.
I was on the sidelines that day. LT was in street clothes, as I recall. I had a media pass, living in Indy at the time. I was so excited but the Giants looked like crap that day. Fun to walk around behind the Giants bench. No fun seeing the loss up close.
And they were 7-5.
