Anyone have a grill/smoker combo they like and would recommend?
I have a Weber Q series propane right now and have been wanting to upgrade in the near future and have been going back and forth on sticking with propane (would probably get the Spirit series model from Weber as I don’t need the Genesis) or going the grill/smoker combo route. I looked at Weber’s pellet grill but it’s pricey and reviews are pretty mixed. I found this Z Grills combo I linked here that seems to have great reviews.
I should also add that I’ve never smoked anything before but am interested in getting into that, this Z Grills one gives options to grill, smoke, bake, roast, sear, braise, barbeque or char-grill.
Any suggestions from anyone who has something like this or has tried it?

On my patio I have my Weber gas grill, my Weber Smokey Mountain smoker and my Blackstone griddle. Dudes come over and all they want to do is fire all of them up and use them together (something I rarely do), but my wife hates all the cooking devices.
Big Green Egg? I don't have one, but people like them.
And as Jim mentioned you can smoke on a gas grill, but not quite the same.
IMO get a smoker and propane grill for convenience. If you don’t really care about the propane - get a charcoal grill / smoker combo and it will be great for you.
My friends are able to dial the BGE in pretty well using the top and bottom vents but I don't have much experience besides being a part of a few smokes.

My patio must look like yours. LOL. I have a Weber genesis gas grill, traeger pellet smoker and black stone griddle.
If I could only have one device I'd get the Weber kettle, can grill, smoke, and roast, and also put a cast iron sheet and make a flat top.
Kamado cookers are super easy to control, the newer ones can be automated and you can control the temp with your phone.
All in, for the smaller smoker, it will be over a grand, but it I am really happy with the purchase.

good point about it. He doesn't like smokers that dont have an easy access opening to manipulate the temp. For all the great reviews the BGE get I wonder if people have issues controlling the temp.

Yeah I own one and controlling the temp is easy as hell
Another great thing about the egg is the ability to make wood fired pizza with the stone accessory. You can get the temp up around 600 or 700 degrees and makes a really nice pie. The only thing I wish was that it was a little easier to add wood or charcoal during the cooking process. With the Egg you need to remove the inner ceramic plate to add more wood and that can be a pain in the ass when it’s hot so I just completely fill it and choke out the fire when done. I can generally get a few cooks with one load of charcoal. They are not all that cheap but I highly recommend it.
