It's good to read that Andre Dillard didn't play well last season
Jay on the Island : 6/27/2020 5:39 pm : link
He was my third choice with the 17th pick last season after Montez Sweat and Dexter Lawrence. Now it's entirely possible that he will take a big step forward next season but he is a very important player for the Eagles if they are going to have success next season.

Losing Brooks is a huge loss. If Dillard struggles again then it becomes very unlikely that Wentz remains healthy.
F the Eagles.

And F the 'Giants fans' here who rooted for them vs. the Pats in the Super Bowl.
That Iggles cap space looks like a real problem

Which is good of course.

Enjoyed reading this pieces.

Pro Football Focus named Malcolm Jenkins as the NFL's best safety in 2015.
Yes please...

The Eagles are still the team to beat in the NFC East. They have a great staff and coach. Their OL took a hit this off-season so we will see what comes of it.

The Giants have serious holes too!

it would be goddamn spectacular if Judge could turn the tide against them.

There are at times positions stated here by Giants fans and sports fans in general that befuddle me; of course to each their own.

But Giants fans rooting for the Eagles or Cowboys, baring a situation where them winning profits the Giants, is a position I cannot relate to.

Nor can I really. I don't wish injury but if they all went like 4-12 every year I'd be fine with that.

I linked the Giants write-up above and I have to say I lost some faith in D. Gettleman. Especially his UFA choice and definitely ALL his trades. If we, for example, had traded the Jets for L. Williams even at the end of training camp last year I may have understood. But 8 games in? His logic for making the trade now makes me want to puke. Simply, DG screwed up there.

The LT Nate Solder signing didn't work out. It was a desperation signing and you should never try to do that with guys 29 and older unless its a QB. Not for that huge money!

My gut says our last two drafts are good. I'm a fan so of course "rose colored glasses" are needed. But trading up for Baker knowing his "lack of hard work" ethic is beyond my comprehension too.

If we "flop" this year with a 5-11 record type thing again I think DG retires and Judge gets a year 2. No way DG survives another flop year. 8-8 and competitive well perhaps DG survives for one more year.

I predict we start 0-3 because we face 3 veteran (set coaches) teams in a row and we ain't going to be ready early in the year. I just don't see us having a winning record though a strong, competitive finish would be nice.

Last, FS McDaniel has 4.63 speed. That is pedestrian for a passing league so I'm now wondering about this pick and his ability to be much of an upgrade over Bethea.

Yeah! I still think the return of the coaching staff gives the Eagles an advantage as the rest of the NFC East is all new with little pre-season.
But health will also play a role cause Wentz is no guarantee especially if the OL is not up to snuff.

and was thinking he went easy on the Eagles. So I decided to read the Cowboys' article. I think they were about the same since both teams are at the top of the division. The Giants have just been too bad for anything like this to not RIP the team apart.

I didn't like how the Carson Wentz injury issue was turned into a bitchfest about the Clowney hit on him in the playoffs. That was turning Wentz Wentz doesn't stay on the field to pandering to Eagle fans.

that Clowney hit was as cheap as they get. If someone did that to Eli we would be complaining too

Hopefully Judge performs better than Pugh did, who also grew up a eagle fan. The first time Pugh played against his fave childhood team, he looked like he wet his pants and didn't want to beat them.

I wonder if the Clowney late hit on Wentz hurt his UFA stock?
As for Wentz, he clearly does get hurt a lot and his OL this year will likely NOT be as effective due to age, injury.
Without a healthy Wentz or a strong run game they can grind with, the Eagles offense could fizzle.
Time will tell.

What was worse, Malcolm Jenkins on Brendin Cooks or the Clowney hit? Neither drew a fine?

Eli got hit in the head plenty. He never asked out of a game.

Two words. Concussion protocol. You either pass or you're automatically out of the game.

He was not in concussion protocol. Read below.

and now DeSean Jackson posted something stupid on Instagram...

His siding with an anti-semitic religious leader will not go very large with his GM (Howie Roseman) or team owner (Jeffrey Lurie) both of whom are Jewish.
He will probably issue an apology that will be an attempt to clear his name, but within his soul he still follows the words of Louis Farrakhan( who has been decidedly anti-semitic and anti-gay through his sermons to his followers).
Having that sort of atmosphere within that terrible organisation will not go over very well.
I really hope this goes bad for the Eagles.

Doesn’t look like Eagles are doing anything about it and the players aren’t calling him out like when Drew Brees commented about those who take a knee during the National Anthem.

Honestly, I'm growing more and more COLD to the NFL and what is going on in this divided world.
I think Jackson should be looked at and asked "WTF?" and such. But the fact it hasn't seemingly happened publicly says a lot.
