Specifically roasted marshmallows in front of a campfire.
Everyone in my family but me takes there marshmallow and plunges there marshmallows directly in the flames so that there become firey torches.
I like to toast them over the super-hot coals so they are brown and caramelized. I am not keen on the bitter blackened flavor, but love the vanilla flavor that the caramelization brings.
Which do you prefer? I'll delete if this thread gets too political ;)
Personally, I do the double toast. Toast it brown (not burnt), pull off and eat the outside, and then toast what's left on the skewer.
