the NFL is a business and in theory any of our companies could keep us employment under the assumption things will be business as usual this fall. But the Giants are looking at a significant loss of revenue with no fans and that seems like an odd time to take on payroll liability from a business perspective.
Plus what exactly would a scout do this fall if there are no prospects playing to scout. At some point might there not be massive layoffs in scouting departments?
Maybe there was a bidding war for her services but it has seemed odd to me the Giants have made several back-end hires to the team recently compared to most other businesses that would be cutting back given the expected loss of future revenue. and I wonder how long the Giants organization can buck the trend!

Payroll liability? This has been a family run team since 1925, you think they are hurting for money?
Imagine, they even talk about all the date they have, and how to best

So, you think there won't be a draft next year? There is plenty of work to do on prospects whether there is a college season or not. Oh, lets not forger that teams should also be scouting their own team with respect to players and tendencies. What about other teams? You have to scout other players on other NFL teams. Not sure why you think a scout doesn't have a job to do. In fact, their jobs will be more difficult this year with everything. If there is a college season then how do they travel around? If there isn't a season these scouts will have to dig deeper than ever before.
I think Scouting will be more important than ever this year
Very interesting and in depth stuff. Never thought I would see the Giants get this innovative. Think most of it comes from Judge who seems like a breath of fresh air for this team. DG, Mara and Tisch are also going along it appears.
Also, bit of an odd path for Courtney Kennedy.

No, they need to plan as if everything is proceeding. Plus two of the scouts were already with the organization.
Why is that weird? Even if the NCAA doesn't have a season why would we be hesitant to do this?

That was my impression, but like you, I don't know.
On the surface, it sounds like they are beefing up data collection and analysis.
And some fans find a way to think thats a negative
