Outside of the comments here but I think we have enough TE's on the roster right now.
Yes, Engram has been hurt a lot and his blocking is well below average. He just needs to put it together FINALLY cause he does have talent and 4.45 type speed for a big guy which is unreal. I hope he succeeds is all cause we as a time succeed if he is out there creating mis-matches.
but I'll take Engram all day long. He has had his injury issues, and this is a big prove-it year for him, but, to my eyes, a healthy Engram is a more dynamic player than Njoku and, as far as I know from all reports, he's an excellent teammate and locker room presence. I'm rooting for him this year.
Howard, Engram and Njoku were all first round guys
that should have heard their names called somewhere in Rd 2. It’s odd how some guys get hyped up in the draft but they do.
Take Engram, who I actually really liked as an offensive threat and a guy that I thought was interesting for Giants. The problem though is he had a major issue with his game (blocking). Not a flaw but a major issue. That by itself should have pushed him in Rd 2 as opposed to #23 overall.
But the Giants got caught up in the idea that Engram was the answer to breaking up the 2 deep safety coverage that was hampering OBJ. So he was pushed up the Giant draft board.

And passed on two guys w o would be starting here In Ramzcyck and Robinson on the OL. Engram wasn’t a bad pick but Passing on OL with a actual talent was Reese’s a thing
lots of drops (like Engram) and lots of bad route running. Engram can break a game open if he ever stayed healthy, don’t feel the same for Njoku. Could be a decent TE but no one I’d trade for and certainly would be interested in his 5th year option.

Njoku has had multiple injuries as well, not just the wrist last year. Engram has more upside in my opinion. It seems like many feel Garrett will utilize him heavily based on what I have read over the last few months. This will be an important season for Engram.
So we end up with no TE?
OBJ's not long for the Browns. Are we about to see another dismal era in their long history of dismal eras?

Nope. 88 receptions in 148 targets over 32 games. Yes, 8 TDs, but overall less than 3 reception per game is far from impressive.
