I am not sure how a team can evaluate new players or get ready for the season with just 8 practices with pads on. Maybe they need to have a week or two of practice for first year players and back ups just like pitchers and catchers come to spring training before other players.

Agreed, imagine dedicating your entire life for this opportunity, making a 90-man roster, and then getting cut before you even have a chance to show what you can do. I definitely feel for those kids who will never have a chance because of this.
He well played
Spot on!!
1) Revenue will be way down due to COVID. No ticket sales, no concession sales, no parking fees, no one using the suites. So the owners probably aren't keen on assuming more salary.
2) The CBA wasn't created for an expanded roster with a lot of young developmental prospects who need time to get up to speed, and I don't think anyone wants to try to negotiate a change or rider for the CBA, on the fly, quickly, amid a moment when the situation with the virus seems to change day to day.
So the best thing for the young guys and the best thing for the product on the field may not be the best thing for the league as a business.
I'm, and I reserve the right to change my mind based on new information, not going to watch. Message boards are filled with anti-NFL right now and honestly I can totally understand why. SMH

If or when you come back, will you make a post explaining why that is the case?
It's easy too see the coming PR disaster. They are going to monumentally F this up.

The league is just, well, NUTS. That is all I want to say. I'm a "Die Hard" Giants fan who bleeds blue since 1986. I got sick of the NFL a few years back and now with CV19 and everything else I'm thinking I should spend my Sunday afternoons perhaps reading or spending time with family more. The NFL used to be a joyful escape from reality and now its all but an escape.

One thing I've learned during CV19: time with friends, family, church, support, charity and the like is precious. Amen.

I'm a retired 20 year Army combat veteran. That is about all I feel the need to say. Done. Baked. Not worth my time and definitely not my money.

So Dramatic.

Since you've given up football, will you still post here?
I just want to prepare myself for the loss in case you decide to leave.
This should give the NFL some validation of their planned protocols, and an opportunity to see what changes may be necessary to be able to play with or without attendees.
lol, now that is funny.
