I know this is a tough question. Just got back from a trip to Vermont last week and I think Focal Banger by the Alchemist might take the cake (Heady Topper the more popular beer by them is unreal as well.). Close second would be the Black Tie Porter from Lake Placid Pub which hasn't been around in a few years unfortunately (mix of vanilla and chocolate malts in a porter was delicious.) What say you BBI?
Tonight I had a Long Trail Green Blaze IPA for the first time, with a fried flounder dinner, and found it excellent.
Living in Wisconsin I favor Miller Genuine Draft. But even that label is suspect now. Just one of many brands made by Molson Coors. Molson Coors has already decided to give up the naming rights to Miller Park where the Milwaukee Brewers play. Can you imagine in a town that made Miller, Pabst, Schlitz, Blatz, Old Milwaukee, Gettleman, and other names can’t keep a name on a ballpark.
+1. Just had one on Monday.
Homer Hops Sweet Mama Java
Just had Cape May the other day, perfect beach beers. Flying Fish also makes a good set of beers for the beach.
Overall it depends on the season, but I had Pliny the Elder on tap a few years ago, and it's tough to beat.
I also like Peroni, . And Sam Adams Lager. As a rule though, I cant enjoy my meals as much with beer.
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Sierra Nevada Torpedo. Sweetwater IPA. Elysian Space Dust IPA. Freak of Nature IPA. Citraquench'l (IPA). Blurred Up (IPA). Stone IPA. Sculpin IPA. Smuttynose Finest Kind (IPA). Harpoon IPA. Stoneface IPA. Lunch IPA. Pliny the Elder/Pliny the Younger. Yards IPA. Kane Head High/Kane Over Head. Wrench IPA.
One I've had once, but I need to have again, is Heady Topper from Alchemist in Vermont. That is a delicious beer. Also, Henry Hops at Citi Field. I forget the name of the brewery, but when I went to a Mets game last year we went to some brewery right by McFadden's that had Henry Hops on draft & it was damn good.

I'd agree with a lot on this list. I've been drinking Sweetwater 420 Strain lately and Bells Two-Hearted Ale. There's a brewery in the area called Green Man and I like their IPA's as well.
Great, it's 8:30 in the morning and I'm thinking about beer...
For local beers Magnify Maine Event & anything from Czig Meister's Abyss series are phenomenal.

My girlfriend is from Milwaukee. It's such a bummer that the baseball stadium in "Brew City" won't be Miller Park anymore. You literally smell the wheat/hops/barley when you drive around town. Now the Brewers will be playing at American Family Insurance Park. It's was cringe-worthy just typing that.
Also, have you ever had Spotted Cow by New Glarus? It's like all they drink over there lol I like it a lot but to me it's just a Yuengling.
My faves lately are ones you can't even get on tap anywhere, or even by canned/bottled EXCEPT from their own brewery (not distributed):
1) Other Half Brewery in Brooklyn - They have become famous for their "oat cream" brewed in their beers. Their Double and Imperial IPAs actually allowed me to drink IPAs again (after being completely played out). Absolutely fantastic.
2) The TreeHouse Brewery in Charlton MA - Especially a bunch of their Stouts... so good.
Other than those when I get something from a place that is not deep in craft brews generally anything from Dogfish head, also La Fin Du Monde seems to be everywhere now...
And I have to say, being a beer snob I never thought I could say this, but if I'm drinking more than a couple with friends and I HAVE to do something benign from one of the big guys? Miller High Life. No lie. LOL. That said I would rather drink Goat Urine than a Budweiser.

lots of good local beers exist in name only now. sad
My son is a brewer for a craft brewery, so until I get my brewery set up in my new location, I've been drinking what he gives me (free). I have hop fatigue, so I stick to more balanced and lower alcohol ~ 5-6%
As a rule draft beer and freshness are the important factors. So much bottled beer on the shelves is not fresh.
Really liking many of the hazy IPAs lately. Best one is Radio Haze by NoDa. New Belgium makes a Juicy Haze IPA which is also excellent. But while I love IPAs, it seems the market is becoming saturated with them.
Captain Lawrence Orbital Tilt IPA
Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing IPA
Newburgh Megaboss IPA, good easy beer for the non-IPA drinkers.
One that has stuck with me since my bachelor party in MD was "Sweet Baby Jesus" by DuClaw. It's a chocolate peanut butter porter, declicious. I've found it a few times in a large beer mart in Rochester, but it's not carried in CNY from what I've seen unfortunately...
Porters are tough though. I can have one as a "dessert" and that's it.

They can definitely be on the heavier side so I certainly can't fault you there though. I could easily have about 3-4 though lol
Lawson's - Super Session
Alchemist - Focal Banger (agree here with the OP and its better than Heady Topper IMO)
Other Half - Broccoli
Cigar City - Jai Alai
Carton 077XX would be my second.
My go-to's are Fat Tire and Blue Point Toasted Lager. BP Mosaic is also real tasty.
I typically do not care for fruity or wheat beers, but one notable exception is Lost Cause Tangerine Wheat. Just a fantastic beer (tough to find).
I also like Lunch (Maine Beer Co.) and Jai Alai (Cigar City) as others have posted. Another I am partial to is Sweetwater 420 Extra Pale Ale.
Damn, now I'm thirsty at it's not even 11 AM.

The Southern Tier Overpack'd is the mixed pack I buy the most. Their stuff is solid across the board, including 2XMAS.
The Maine bottles are always well done, Lunch, Dinner, Peeper, etc.
Carton 077XX would be my second.
Both excellent beers. Man, I wish I was at Vic's right now having pizza & Head High...
Other Half is fantastic, wish it was a bit easier to get since there's no shot i'm going to NY right now, haha.
So Sip of Sunshine is one of my all time favorites but I'm getting tired of the DIPA's (although Sip is super light compared to most) and i'm getting into Sessions big time. Super Session is a stellar beer. Packs the taste of a great IPA into a 4.8% light beer - perfect for summer (or anytime, haha).
I just tried their new beer "The Space In Between" and didn't care for it. Almost tasted like a Sour which isn't for me. Next up is trying their Little Sip.
I highly recommend the sampler case with the Pale Ale, Hoppy Anniversary, Torpedo Extra and the Hop Bullet DIPA.
