love this if true. Get it done. This is a game changer.

Get out of debt, we can re-sign our stars, Syndergaad, Stroman, Conforto.

Dream come true if they can pull it off.

will the Wilpons add SNY to the deal?
Pretty shrewd move
moespree : 7/9/2020 10:46 pm : link
Blows everyone else out in terms of total amount he's willing to spend, in terms of total amount comes in for more than he was initially going to offer and now and will force the Wilpons to say no to that.
This is gonna happen.

The Wilpons have got the message that the club and SNY have to be a package. Otherwise, there would be fights every year about how income and expenses are to be allocated between the two. And nobody is gonna trust the Wilpons to do that. Nor does anyone want to pay billions and watch the Wilpons run things for a few more years.

The Wilpons have to sell now. It's all gonna go to the highest bidder. I hope it's Cohen. And, as was pointed out, just in time as Thor, Stroman and Conforto hit the market.
Hey Dan, like they say a pessimist wont be disappointed.

I know you have been skeptical and not wanting to get your hopes up about Uncle Stevie... BOOOM!!!

I have been telling you for months, this guy wasn't going to lose here. He is a total savage and die hard Mets fan. I am a hedge fund analyst and have been in his office to meet with him. His office decked out with some of the sickest Mets memorabilia and he is a very savy fan.

The guy has all the money in the world, the is his passion play, no way he would be outbid.
I'm going to try not to get as excited as I was..

Back when the original deal was announced...

But damn..this would just be amazing. Please please let this happen.
it's reportedly $2bn for Mets and/or $2bn for SNY
Eric on Li : 7/9/2020 10:59 pm : link
my guess is the Mets bid is for 80% of the team because that's what he was in line for the first time and also what the A-Rod group bid for (seems a safe assumption the Wilpons want to keep a piece). If true that would put the valuation on the team at $2.5bn, which is just $100m lower than the valuation of his previous agreement.
Hmm

has walked this claim back..
That figure seems awfully high,

especially at a moment when MLB and all sports are under stress and the future is uncertain.

I don't think anyone else is bidding anywhere close to this, either.

If that figure is correct, Cohen is going to take no chances on being outbid, and is taking a long-term view on his investment. Maybe he is also planning on investing in real estate in the area and hopes for some synergies. Or, maybe something is off in the reporting. That happens.
