NGT: maybe it's good we didn't draft Devin White

NFL star Devin White is throwing a massive charity event for around 2,000 people in a small Louisiana town this weekend ... and the mayor there says he expects NO COVID-19 precautions to be taken.

White -- the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 2019 1st-round pick -- is set to hold his 2nd annual "Trail Ride" at his "Get Live Stables" in Cotton Valley, La. on Saturday.

The turnout is expected to be HUGE ... the mayor of Cotton Valley, C.C. Cox, tells TMZ Sports he believes roughly 2,000 people -- and maybe even more -- will show up to the 20-acre property for the get-together.

But, Cox says he's not anticipating it to be a coronavirus-concerned crowd ... saying, to his knowledge, mask-wearing and social distancing will NOT be enforced at the event.

I'm not familiar with LA law, but

isn't in possible the police could break this up? Doesn't LA has some ban on large crowds? Again, I don't know what's going on in Louisiana because I don't live there, but NOLA is one helluva time.

From the article -

Quote:
Cox says there WILL be Louisiana State Troopers patrolling the party as well as officers from the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office ... although he says they will NOT be there to enforce social distancing guidelines.

"You just got to accept it," Cox said. "I'm ready for it."

So the mayor's essentially saying he's powerless to stop this gathering from happening.

I gotta imagine LA has some sort of ban on large gatherings.

I don’t go near twitter, so not certain what you’re referring to re Solder. Has he opined on something recently?

I think he’s referring to the post above referencing Solders tweet about “If the NFL doesn’t do their part to keep players healthy there will be no football”.

I’m not sure what the NFL is supposed to do if players aren’t taking things seriously...
On another thread I asked that if Asia can get baseball back and

Europe can get Soccer back, why can’t we get football back ? Geezus ...I feel like such an idiot now ...

Ric, yes ...sadly, I’ve looked at Europe’s numbers nearly every day, especially Italy and Germany ... they are the 2 poster children for how to control this mess. My original post was satire.

Got it, sometimes it can be difficult to pick up on satire in this setting.
