NFT: Streaming hidden gem documentaries?

RicFlair : 7/12/2020 1:23 pm
I’m a documentary junkie, watched one on prime a few weeks ago called “Missing 411: The Hunted”.

Kinda weird, about missing hunters without explanation, then kinda veers into supernatural Bigfoot territory but has some good Bigfoot audio stuff at the end.

Anyway, y’all got any you think I should check out?
there's

actually a ton of great original content on YouTube now, ranging from more digestable content (i.e., Oversimplified) to more detailed stuff (Rare Earth, The Great War, etc).

Gone with the Wind documentary.

Never knew Ronnie VZ, basically wrote the song in his head as he heard the riff of the song.

Dig! (2004)
JB_in_DC : 7/13/2020 10:47 am : link
Just watched Dig! last night on YouTube. Tells the story of cult band Brian Jonestown Massacre - and their genius but actual crazy person leader Anton Newcombe. Some great footage of the band as they disintegrate every time they get close to mainstream success.

If you like 60s-style psychadelic rock - its definitely worth checking out.

It won Documentary Grand Jury Prize at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival so maybe not a hidden gem.
Dig! trailer - ( New Window )

of off topic but has anyone used "Tubi" it's basically like a free netflix. It's not illegal streaming etc, it's a legitimate service owned by Fox.
From your handle, if you're into wrestling documentaries check out

Undertaker: The Last Ride

It was an excellent 5 part documentary behind the 30+ years of perhaps the best character ever developed in wrestling history.

Even if you're not a fan of the character, it's an amazing behind the scenes documentary of the wrestling business, that's extremely well done.

WWE also just announced that they will be releasing a 6th episode later on this week.

Just do a free 7 day trial and watch all those episodes. It's definite worth it, an amazing documentary that looks behind the scenes into a legendary character.

Tubi is great, tons of great documentaries. Last one I saw, that's only available on Tubi for free, was Architects of Denial. It's a documentary by Dean Cain and Montel Williams that looks into the history of genocide in the 20th century.

is absolutely brutal, one of the saddest films I've ever seen, but is a loving tribute to a very unlucky father and son.

Three Identical Strangers is great about triplets separated at birth, lots of surprises.

But I recently watched a series called Secret Nazi Ruins I believe it was the science channel and thought it was quit interesting.

I believe there are 6 one hour episodes and well worth the time to watch.
One I watched the other night.
