Baker has half a season to prove he can actually cover somebody or I'm giving up on him. Terrible rookie season, almost as bad as Apple's sophomore year here... he has half a season to win me over.
He comes in.....we can assume he has been communicating with the position coaches at least.....should lead to staying....and hopefully lead to a happy conclusion
He get told not come.....assume the end is near or commissioners list is coming....and.expect an extended suspension
to focus on his legal issues over 2 months ago. Really nothing since that I know of.
Now you can interpret that however you want but a lot has changed in 2 months and if they didn’t want him there they would tell him. I guess there’s still time for that so we will see what happens but I suspect he will be there unless a bomb drops with the case.
maybe this arrest and shakedown really has been a wake up call for Dre. Maybe having a few more ex Dawgs on the roster, and especially one as prominent as Andrew Thomas, an even bigger or much bigger star at UGA than Baker was, maybe that has some sway on this kid.
Or maybe not. Maybe he really IS dumber than dirt and flushes his whole resume as a top DB down the drain.
Remains to be seen. The kid has some cover skills and plenty of natural ability. Can he focus it going forward?
admit that I didn't think the Giants would allow him to show up as long as the prospect that he could be charged existed. I didn't think they would want that distraction if it happened, especially with a rookie coach, COVID - 19, and coming off a bad season. Maybe it means that his case will be favorably resolved.
Has the Giants and NFL in a holding pattern they can’t close the door on him because the courts are doing the same thing. He has a day in Giants front office to answer a few questions then if they were later found to have been misled it’s wash your hands clean. Anyway this will end in the future will leave a really bad taste in the NFL & Giants mouth.

I was thinking the same thing. People forget that these are kids. Maybe this is the giant wake up call he needs professionally and personally. I'm sure his coaches are hammering that home.

Yup. And his behavior already cost other people their jobs most likely. At least one SEC area scout and David Tyree...
We can hope he's realized he's not LT, however talented he is. He needs to work at his craft.

I must of missed it. Can you please point me to the Giants statement that these people lost their jobs because of Baker.
having the privilege like you do to call someone a scumbag based on a *still ongoing* investigation where there’s basically been zero proven facts as to what happened. Call me crazy but let’s maybe wait until this all settles before we start labeling guys as “scumbags.” Complete bullshit post - as were the other posters calling Baker to be immediately cut and that he’s a horrible human being.
Not so sure about that.
Just another adult post...
Convinced?

That doesn't exactly refute the post, but okay.

Does protocol say each team member gets an “invite”? Pretty much assumed anyone on the team is supposed to be there unless told otherwise.
If Giants nor NFL stop him.....I suspect that is a big win....as you know by now....the NFL has done its investigation
Convinced?
Hi. I'm here for the covid testing and meetings!

Only that he’s showing up.

Fill it up again! Fill it up again! Once it hits your lips, it's so good!

Perhaps. But may not apply to those who were previously told to stay away.
Just saying. This is coming from Bakers team.

There aren’t that many nfl scumbags and we don’t even know for sure wtf baker did or didn’t do.
There are just as many scumbag bankers, lawyers IT techs out there. Probably more per %. We just don’t know about it.

Yeah. Definitely haven't seen any wifebeaters, drug addicts, gun involved crimes or anything like that for years now. Not at all.

You mean like in the rest of society? Well I’ll be damned.
He certainly was associating with the wrong people but I highly doubt that he stole watches.
NFL players are exempt.

Naaa, let’s call him a piece of shit because that’s far more productive and makes the most sense.
Out of curiosity is he still a "scumbag" if no charges are filed against him?
Or maybe not. Maybe he really IS dumber than dirt and flushes his whole resume as a top DB down the drain.

You’re dumb as rocks.
I pray he gets to camp; stays quiet; works hard; and wins the starting job and plays.
You hope the case is dropped or some cheap deal is done to save face. Yes, he may get suspended 2 to 4 games but at least his career isn't over.
Missing big on a first round pick you traded up for really hurts.
