The NFL announced that six players (from five teams) were placed on the COVID-19 reserve list today. That means those players either tested positive or are quarantined after coming in close contact with someone who tested positive.
No Giants or Jets were on the list, but the Giants just wrapped up their first round of COVID testing on Sunday, and the Jets finish on Monday. If any of their players end up on COVID-19 reserve we'd likely find out in the next few days.
Also, a reminder: This is just the beginning of NFL COVID-19 testing. Only a few teams have results in, and only from the first reporting groups (rookies, and in some cases QBs and injured players).
NFLPA sent players a memo today outlining “high-risk conduct” they are prohibited from participating in this season.
If they are caught engaging in these activities and contract COVID they could lose their pay while they are out.

Yep. It has actually been a very busy weekend with sports news.
At this pt in time I have become numb to the arbitrary legislation of this disease, at all levels.
I ve reached a point of not trying to figure it out or even caring. If this mandate increases the possibility of football, it s all good.
Cynical? Not really. More like confused.
What s puzzling to me, but not surprising is that some find an honest opinion, such as I expressed, offensive enough that they feel the need to call me out.
But that s where we are right now.
I might also point out there is a big difference in a scientist not knowing and knowingly lying, but that would be cynicism.
They didn't announce covid tests or status. They just announced roster transactions (which the league makes public). Adding someone to IR List or Injury Report is not a HIPAA violation. In theory, Tom Brady could test positive for Covid, but if he's not added to the "Covid Reserve List" you might never know.
Last weekend, at very short notice, the UK reintroduced quarantine measures for people arriving from Spain. For those already in Spain, or for whom it was too late to postpone their trip, the decision is very inconvenient. For those who can't work at home when they return, it may mean missing out on wages for the two weeks they will have to spend in isolation when they get back. But what if the apparent rise in cases has been exaggerated by seemingly small flaws with testing?
The potential for problems was illustrated by Scottish football team St Mirren last week. The club, based in Paisley, a town just west of Glasgow, reported seven positive test results for Covid-19 among its staff. Alarm bells went off about what this might mean for the new Scottish football season. But this “cluster” was a mirage. When the seven people were re-tested using a more accurate method, just one of them was found to be Covid-positive.
In Spain, half of the reported cases have been in people who had no symptoms. We know that many people who test positive never suffer any symptoms. But what if many of these people don't have Covid-19 at all?"

Four Vikings, including their first-round pick, are being placed on the reserve/COVID list. It doesn’t mean they have it; they may have just been exposed to it. They haven’t had any contact with trainer Eric Sugarman, who tested positive over the weekend. No overlap there.
Yea, guess I m being cranky. This dam situation can do that.
