in Houston on Jeff Fisher's first game as head coach, he replace Jack Pardee as an interim coach. And Dave Brown was knocked unconscious by Lamar Lathon which brought Kent Graham off the bench. Graham hit 2 bombs to Sherrard and that's what won the game in an otherwise underwhelming stretch. The main thing about it was at the time I was in college and vowed not to shave until the Giants won a game and going on 7 weeks of losses I looked like a hostage so I was pretty excited to shave it off on that Monday Night.
But the review is leaving out the strength of opponents early on that started the roll. Houston was 1-9 and the next week the Redskins were 2-9. Later the Bengals were 2-11. I've said the Browns win was the most impressive Dave Brown win in his career. That one was legit. And beating Dallas in the last game, the Cowboys pulled all their starters since the game meant nothing and the Giants had to win and hope for Tampa to beat Green Bay (didn't happen).
But the real bottom line was the 1994 team was flawed and that finish gave tons of false hope going in 1995, which ended in the Monday Night opener against Dallas when Emmitt went 70 yards and pulled his helmet off to celebrate.
I have virtually no memory of the 1994 season other than a long losing streak followed by a winning streak and Dave Brown throwing several identical pick-6s on short sideline passes.
1. Playing the Saints in the Superdome. Giants driving late for a go-ahead score. A receiver, I think might have been Calloway, makes a big catch and slams the ball into the turf in celebration. Unfortunately, the defender's helmet was maybe two feet away. Receiver gets flagged for taunting, drive stalls, Saints win.
2. Playing the Steelers at home. Giants at the goalline, Brown tries to scramble in. Fumbles at the 1, Steelers recover. Replay showed Brown had BOTH knees down before fumbling, but no replay back then. Steelers win 10-9.
I remember this being the season of the Lucky NY Helmet

Yeah, unfortunatly Dave B was good for at least one killer game losing INT at the worst time back then lol
