Is it too late for the NFL to consider a bubble of their own? NFL Island?
After 1 weekend the MLB is in crisis mode. You have to believe this same exact thing can and will happen in NFL locker rooms. As we know all it takes is 1 guy to infect the larger group.
With locker rooms of 100+ people including players, staff and coaches. How does the NFL realistically plan and execute a season without a bubble or island/isolate concept?
Status quo seems unrealistic at this point.
Nick Fury style?
Put each conference on their own island bubbles, adjust the regular season schedule or just run charters back and forth each week, best team on each island plays in the super bowl. Probably only need 2 decent venues per island so you can run 4 total games concurrently if nec at 1p or 4p and holding games for SNF/MNF.
They may even be able to take the NBA's bubble when they are done and use Disney for one of the venues (albeit not an island).
---It would take just over 195 billion footballs, end-to-end, to reach from Earth to Mars at their closest distances. When Mars is farther away from Earth it would take 1.4 trillion footballs.
---On Mars, a football would weigh less than half a pound (only .38 pounds) while a 200-pound football player would weigh just about 75 pounds.
---The longest field goal kick in NFL history is 64 yards. On Mars, at ⅓ the gravity of Earth, that same field goal, ignoring air resistance, could have been made from almost two football fields away (192 yards).
---Aerodynamic drag doesn’t happen on Mars. With a very thin atmosphere and low gravity to drag the ball down, a quarterback could throw the football three times as far as he could on Earth. A receiver would have to be much further down the field to catch the quarterback’s throw.
We just need to get Space X's Starship's Service to Earth Orbit, Moon Mars and Beyond going. You can do this, Elton!!!
I guess they could try and take over Saturday's too (doubt CFB will happen) and have back-to-back MNF games, but even doing that you essentially only have 9 time slots (TNF, 3 Sat, 3 Sun, 2 MNF) so 7 of them would require at least 2 simultaneous games.
I hope it works because I love football. But if you’re not mentally preparing for no season I think you’re setting up for disappointment.
Riiiight.
If the Phils are cleared this doesn't affect the schedule too bad for them and the Yanks aside from cancelling tonight's game.
They're scheduled to play in NYC on Wednesday and Thursday so these two games from Philly could be moved to Yankee Stadium and play a double header on one of the days.
I agree it's likely going to happen to more teams as the season goes on but I'm not going to jump to pulling the plug this quickly.
If these guys want to get paid, maybe this will be a lesson learned to the NFL players. Break protocol, and you jeopardize the season and your pay check.
is missing out on 5 billion in tv revenue plausible?

Its not up to the NFL - the NFLPA would have to agree to it. That NFLPA represents thousands of workers, many won't want to be isolated away from their families for half the year - I'd wager many of the coaches and staff wouldn't either.
This isn't simple, there's no easy fix for a league of this size.
Maybe some type of round-robin type tournament played at a limited number of sites like World Cup Soccer could have been workable.
This may work for the NBA but there is no way it will work for MLB or NFL.
Unless/until the turnaround on test results is same-day (preferably within a few hours), a major problem is always on the horizon when there is no bubble.
It doesn't really matter how frequently they test if they don't know until Wednesday which players test positive today.
Sports all around the world are working. But not us. Sad.

It s a very contagious virus. Catching it doesn’t have to mean someone was negligent
NFL s best bet is for the continuation of treatment for disease. Heard a doctor on news today state that treatments have begun to make a dent.
Death rates are Now similar to the flu However, he also believes we don’t take the flu seriously enough.

As long as you have idiots saying, “no one’s going to tell me what to do,” it will continue to worsen. I’m not saying anything deep here.

Just think about it: It’s a fucking piece of cloth. Sheesh.

I have had a very hard time processing the behavior of so many. From the anti maskers to the ones who insist that they know more than the professionals and insist on interpreting the data in a manner that allows them to poke holes in said data, even when they really have no idea WTF they are even looking at, they just HAVE to prove to everyone that it's all a lie. That behavior is dangerous. What the fuck is wrong with erring on the side of caution and just wear the damn mask?
I am disgusted with so many people. This country truly needs an enema.
I think the NFL will do whatever they can to get this off, but I don't see it going long.
