Tried to think of the movies I liked most at that time of my life. If I made this list once a week, it’d be different every time. Here goes:
70s: Star Wars ‘77 (Godfather ‘72)
80s: Ferris Bueller ‘86 (Blade Runner ‘82)
90s: Pulp Fiction ‘94 (Silence o/t Lambs ‘91 / Matrix ‘99)
00s: The Incredibles ‘04 (LotR: Fellowship ‘01 / Snatch ‘00)
10s: Skyfall ‘12 (Avengers: Infinity War ‘18 / Baby Driver ‘17)
“Shane” in the ‘50s was my best ever movie.

and Fight Club just for it being a quotable film for people in my age group. I went with Silence of the Lambs for the Hannibal Lecter character performance.

I also took the same approach adding The Dark Knight to my list for the 2000s. I wasn't THAT crazy over the movie but I cannot shut my eyes to Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker.
So many great movies in this world but if I had to pick

Damn fine list. I say ditto to almost all these except the more recent decades as not sure any good movies in past 20 years :-)

Oh and Chariots of Fire in 1980s could make it.
