Rock: Note that Ryan Connelly was not placed on PUP

Of some note with Giants roster designations yesterday: LB Ryan Connelly, who reported last week, was NOT placed on PUP and is cleared to participate in... whatever the Giants are participating in these days. Connelly tore ACL last season to interrupt a promising rookie season.

I look forward to seeing how Connelly performs this season. He was a pleasant surprise last year during his limited run. IIRC he was considered one of the favorites to win DPOY before he tore his ACL.
Stapleton also said that Engram is ready to go

It was such an unfortunate injury. I don't know how this will affect his career trajectory, but I was very impressed by his performance last year. Hopefully he has a smooth transition back.
His ability to diagnose a play and his acceleration are top notch

Is this true? He was considered a DPOY favorite?

wow, I obviously noticed him, he had a couple picks I think before he tore the ACL and was very noticeable on the field, didn't realize he was that good.

definitely makes more sense, but if you extrapolate out his 4-game production to a 16-game season that could have been a great year (which I know you can't do, but still)

Yes, I remember the announcer said this during his 3rd start. Obviously he wasn't going to pass Bosa but it was nice to hear him receive recognition for his solid play.

He's quick and showed a knack for staying off blocks. Really hurt the defense when he was hurt.
