but he needs to be giving better ABs than we've been seeing to not get Frazier some looks. Frazier needs looks for his trade value not just for us. Eventually we are going to have to trade him at bargain basement prices if he doesn't get some MLB burn and this is the perfect game to give him some burn... I don't think this will be our only blowout this season either

Gardner is seeing pitches though. He's not getting on. But he's seeing pitches.

Frazier's not with the team right now, though, right? Didn't he get sent down to the minor league camp or whatever they're calling it?
Cole is first true ace this team has had since when?
I want Frazier to get a shot. Keep Gardy fresh by rotating him through.
I doubt Frazier is up next. I imagine if they bench Gardy it's Tauchman coming in.
I think Miggy gets first crack in LF, at least vs lefty pitchers. Maybe even against some righties too if his bat is what we expect from him and Gardy continues to struggle.
Frazier is an above average MLB player. He needs to play because if he isn't part of our long term plans, we need to show him off to someone who matches up with us for a trade.
I also think he deserves a real shot to stick with the team long-term. Let him and Tauchman fight it out to the death.

Good point.
RE: Cole is first true ace this team has had since when?
Who should be playing DH today? The Yanks are not playing the Phillies, which I could see the need to play a DH. Playing a DH against the Orioles makes no sense.
Sorry just seeing this. The Yankees were scheduled to be in Baltimore next Tuesday - Thursday. By playing a DH today you a) get some games In with no threat of weather, b) bank those games and don’t worry about virus spread at some point, C) both teams well rested with plenty pitching available to play 2, d) open up next week which I presume will include makeup games against phillies but strangely hasn’t been announced yet I don’t think.
They should have figured this out Monday and played last night but what’s done is done.
yep. its Summer Training. Anyone's guess who has it put together at the moment.
- bad pitch recognition
- can't hit offspeed stuff
I don't think that has been a secret. He is just so dangerous if they don't make their pitches that he is able to hit .230 with pop.

Bad pitch recognition is the key. He swings at balls and often takes pitches he can drive.
7-1

exactly

this team has had a bunch of awesome #2's... or even 1A's... but Cole is the real deal.
complete confidence with him on the mound.

CC in his prime was definitely and ACE. An absolute workhorse. Pitched on 3 days rest often in the playoffs
7-3

LOVED CC but never considered him a true ACE.

With the Indians and Brewers he definitely was an ace. And probably the 1st 2 years with the Yanks.

CC was an ace. There is no question about that. Was he ever as good as Cole? I don't think so.

Completely agree.

Means is actually a pretty good lefty, and no idea what to expect w/ Happ.
Happ is the Tyler Clippard of starters
Means is definitely a good pitcher. I think Happ will be better this year. I think the ball has been "detuned" and he was throwing better in ST.
Green working on his offspeed pitch.
Bat on ball skills. I want more guys with that skill in this lineup.
That was some strike call to Judge on the first pitch....
