and thats all they had as positive then why is it being cancelled? Is MLB going to go from too relaxed (im guessing based on the marlins fiasco) to crazy cautious? Or are they not confident in the testing and think more PHI players could be positive?
but they have had days to do every cleaning possible in those locations. MLB seems very unprepared, like they just thought everything was going to go nice and smooth and no reason to plan for issues. Right, this kind of thing had to have been expected. The Marlins left CBP on Sunday. They really don't the ability to get the stadium cleaned and safe for play by Friday? What exactly were they planning for?
there is no science at all that says this stuff is still on surfaces after 5 days (Marlins last there sunday).
What a complete mess - no one is following any of the protocol they laid out before the season started, including having alternate sites with players brought in as needed.
THey cant even have the Jays play the Nats because their season series wraps up today. Maybe have the Jays play the Orioles and the Rays play the Nats... but this is getting exhausting and the league doesnt appear to have any kind of plan.
then they should just use CitiField this weekend. Mets arent back until Fri 8/7 against those lovable Marlins and Cuomo said all MLB teams are welcome to play in NY.
You probably have the Phillies playing in Yankee stadium on monday anyway as both teams are off.

yeah, lets face it the Marlins and Orioles most likely arent going to be in the race after 54 games anyway... thats manageable and the O's only lost 2 games this week anyway...
but the Phillies missing this amount of time - and with zero cases on top of it - is a real MLB problem. They're obviously going to be in the hunt for one of the 8 playoff spots.
Most thriving Businesses just aren’t run this way. They’re agile, they plan for everything 4 scenarios deep. The minute Sunday happened the yanks should have been in baltimore for a Regular 3 game series and the phillies should have been at Citi field this weekend to play toronto (toronto is home team And it’s closer to buffalo than Philly anyway)
If for some reason despite 0 positive player tests the phillies aren’t allowed to play this weekend - So again ignoring science - then you immediately send toronto to Baltimore this weekend and have Tampa play their games 2 games at Washington. Nobody’s even adjusting hotels or airports. Keep it moving for as many teams as possible.
Instead they’ve shutdown Washington and toronto this weekend too. It’s mind numbing bureaucratic stupidity.
