Anyone catch the end of Golic and Wingo?

Eli Wilson : 7/31/2020 12:04 pm
I know ESPN is hated on here, for good reason.

Tough to watch.

Golic and Greeny was a great show
ZogZerg : 7/31/2020 12:18 pm : link
Too bad Greeny wanted to move on.
Never liked Wingo

Always like Golic, he just talked from an atgletes point of view, never pretended to be anything else
Seems like a nice guy
NoPeanutz : 7/31/2020 12:35 pm : link
but didnt care for Golic on the radio. Just didnt dig his vibe. Golic and Wingo was a bad show.
Will not miss.
If it's tough to watch...

...how about you just share with us what's pertinent so we don't have to suffer through it as well.

tough watch because they were emotional or tough watch because the cameraman had a stroke?
I have listened to Mike Golic for pretty much 22 years

during my morning commute. I always liked him. My friend and I met him at the Eli Manning draft in 2004 and he couldn't be a nicer guy.

Agreed- seems like a nice guy. Didn't offer any real insight or was a talented interviewer. I actually liked Greeny but him and Wingo was terrible radio. Don't understand the lovefest.... His son is even worse.

Golic Jr. is a blowhard.
Very nice tribute...

...by a son to his father.
Didn't listen very often even at their peak

but no surprise ESPN dumps the good human and keeps the phony guy with a gimmick who stabbed him in the back.

Right on brand ESPN.
That was very touching

Always liked Golic and Golic Jr is great. He’s immensely talented on radio and that was evident right away on his show first and last. I work odd hours and listen a lot to the overnights. He and JJ are up there as two of the best for me.

Curious... are you referring to Greenberg? If so, how is capitalizing on your earned opportunities, increasing your families financial security, considered stabbing an unwanted, less talented, less educated former partner.

Tough crowd. Greenberg, like him or not, has worked hard for his opportunities and deserves to reap the benefits. He doesn't owe Golic anything. What gimic are you referring to?

Maybe you are referring to Wingo? As far as I know ESPN didn't renew his contract. Or maybe you are referring to Golic Jr... Hell, I don't know ...please enlighten me.
Heard it live this morning

and I felt bad for the guy. He found out from the post that the show was ending, not even from the higher ups at ESPN, while he was on vacation.

He wasn't the best interviewer or radio host ever, but he seems like a genuine, good guy and in a world where there are not many, I can respect that. He was an easy listen in the morning and I hope he gets back on his feet.
Not a fan of nepotism

His son had almost the same horrible takes, so glad he’s gone
Greenie was way better and the show sunk apparently after he left
His son was the worst
I don’t celebrate firings/dismissals but that was one of the the worst shows
I would turn the radio on for like 4 seconds and change the channel
Wingo was the worst though - so arrogant

Greenie had a humility and an authenticity that would ring true
Didn’t love Grennie, but at least he was real - or so it seemed.
I’m a fan of the show.

Don’t like that they ended it. I’ll be looking for something else besides ESPN in the am.
I haven't listened much in several years
Allen in CNJ : 8/1/2020 7:19 am : link
and really couldn't deal with all the shitty teases they do but it was OK when it was just Greenie and Golic. Once Greenie left I didn't mind Trey Wingo however Golic Jr is UNLISTENABLE no matter how much I tried. Once I hear that dude's voice it's back to WFAN - he is a true blowhard that uses big words and catchy phrases to convey points most people see. Mike Golic himself is a good man, and has had a real good career at ESPN, best of luck to him.
ESPN can't get anything right
aimrocky : 8/1/2020 7:34 am : link
every change that they make crashes and burns. With Greeny it was tolerable, but not great. The show has always been very robotic without organic conversation. Greenburg at least brought good interviews and intelligence. Golic seems like a nice guy, but the show hasn't been even close to average for years. If the new hosts are as robotic as the old ones, it'll fail as well.
Golic Was Great, Wingo SUCKED
Bernie : 8/1/2020 9:46 am : link
And Greenie became too full of himself, forgetting what really was the source of his success.
Felt bad how Golic found out.

Weak sauce from ESPN.

Never a huge fan of the show, especially with Wingo.
Liked Hawthorne Wingo, Trey Wingo not so much
