BREAKING: MLB commissioner Rob Manfred told MLBPA executive director Tony Clark on Friday that if the sport doesn’t do a better job of managing the coronavirus, it could shut down for the season, sources told @JeffPassan.
nuts enough that I have a prescription to be tested both for the virus and the antibody.
Given my age and preconditions, it's a freaking miracle if I have had it asymptomatically.
Obviously I outlined a schedule plan rather quickly to guarantee playing a full 16 game schedule with multiple make up games... But that still assumes individual players' and teams' health is good enough to field reasonably professional squads. The NFL schedule as currently proposed will likely fail without makeup room.
with a 20% extension of the season? Never mind that such an extension, because of game postponements, necessarily implies that covid issues are impacting player safety. I would not think this flies as simply 're-scheduling'.
As to BlueLou's remaining healthy, knock wood and good to hear you are good, ID experts are only gradually beginning to think they have a handle on various aspects of this virus, R0, morality demographics, immunity, sequelae (very troubling), all subject to change. You may have some pre-existing immunity to corona virus and thus covid, blood type, good t-cells, who the hell knows. Be sure to keep on keeping on, amigo.
your question about the NFLPA objecting to a 20 week season:
Hell no! If they agreed to the proposal that any "low risk" player who voluntarily opts out gets a paltry $150K forward from his 2021 salary...
Yeah, I'd imagine they would have agreed to a 20 week schedule with 4 fully shut down (except for make-up games) bye weeks. Better than no season at all, right?
And maybe, in fact, a healthier model overall considering all injuries?

IMO that's the far bigger sticking point.

Is this in addition to the positives from yesterday?
