Nice digs for the Rams. Still hate them for '89.
Impressive - ( New Window )
And 1970

This, Dallas, Atlanta, Minnesota, Vegas, etc. and we get Metlife. MetLife Stadium gets more and more embarrassing every time another stadium gets built.
I’m not jealous of the new stadiums..

I’m upset that Giants Stadium was demolished. That stadium had tremendous character, it represented the history of the franchise so well. It was loud, the wind tunnel in that stadium was a home field advantage. The GIANTS Stadium sign at the top of the stadium. I miss it.

Ideally, I would have loved Giants Stadium to get needed updates, but remain. The Jets could have pursued their own stadium in Flushing or somewhere in that area.

It sucks how it turned out instead. And I’m saying all this after the Giants have won a Super Bowl while playing home games in MetLife, which included some big wins that year at home.
The team has the worst record in NFL over the last 3 years

and the stadium is what embarrasses you?

Granted I've only been once, but I did not think Metlife was all that bad.
Too bad it will be empty for the Chargers

Seriously, What Did You See

That you’re so envious of? Looks like a nice office building. The club level looked no different than any other club at any other stadium. That video did not show any sight lines and the exterior had a big pond.. Where is the tailgating? Access to the seats looked painful as that dude was walking forever. Of ourselves the NFL will hype it up, but the never ending bashing of MetLife is amusing.
What helps me sleep at night

Is at least the giants are still here. Could be worse. Could be the late 90s browns or a number of other teams that moved. Yes the stadium is boring. Be a lot worse if the giants had the perfect stadium in St. Louis or Houston.

Ha! So true.
Yes becasue the NY market is always in danger of losing
arniefez : 8/1/2020 11:32 am : link
it's franchises. So thankfully like the Yankees Mets Knicks Rangers and Jets the Giants didn't leave the NY market for the greener pastures of St Louis or some other tiny market midwest market.

Met Life = Mara management. It's is the monument to their incompetence, lack of vision and and talent-less born on home plate entitlement.

Ok.

Dodgers. Baseball Giants. They don’t count? And these same giants moved from nyc.

The browns were never going to move. Sacrilege. Then they did.

I’m just looking on the bright side. It works for me. Keeps me sane. Might serve others here.
I don't hate Met Life for being boring

I hate it for nearly doubling in cost simply by adding the Jets and their shitty design ideas. I hate it for placing most of the seats much further away from the action than at Gisnts Stadium, making the upper ring terrible. I hate it for the PSLs that essentially made my 25 years on the waiting list a waste of time and killed any hope I ever had of getting tickets. I hate that inside really isn't all that exciting in comparison to the old stadium. I hate it because it isn't really easier to get in or out. I hate it because after all that money to build, they are changing most of the exterior lighting with colored shields over lights instead of tecunology.
Yeah. Met Life they cheaped out and went....
MOOPS : 8/1/2020 2:18 pm : link
with the aluminum siding. Shudda went with vinyl.
I flew into LA in November, from the sky it looked freakin huge...
sb from NYT Forum : 8/1/2020 5:35 pm : link
...and even though it was half built it looked amazing.
From that video

I'm with Bernie. Didn't look so impressive to me.
Who the heck
Ike#88 : 8/1/2020 7:45 pm : link
put 4 Video boards in the Metlife. Wasted space. Gouging the fans is unexcusable and will not fly post covid.

Looks like a European airport to me. Football and the So California esthetic were never a good match.

Well said ... +1 ... the Giants, as an organization lost a big part of its soul with the decision to go to a new stadium... .i didn’t understand it then and I don’t understand it now. Maybe the dumbest decision made in their history.

Simple explanation, trying to keep up with the Jones's.
