day 1 halfway done. Figured I''d start a thread for not just the Rangers games.
Rangers and Canes were rusty on specials (though CAR looked much better), 1 for 14 combined on the PP. Good intensity though, hard hitting game. I thought Hank was great.
I didn't see any of NYI vs FLA, but the score is about what I'd expect from a Trotz team.
PIT came out like a house on fire, Price stood tall and MTL's two youngsters, Kotkaniemi and Suzuki have the Habs with a 2 - 0 lead. momentum is starting to shift to MTL, but PIT can score quickly. MTL defense is a massive Achilles heel.
Only 9 career games.
A little like Kiviranta on the Stars.
Pronman had Stützle moving to 2nd off the board, ahead of Byfield in his draft issue late last week.
The NHL scouts' takes (vs. the team GMs' takes that formed the basis for the mock) were at some serious odds with some of the selections, as pj indicated on certain of the 'draftees'.
But later Klinberg tripped Volkov - Lightning back to the PP.
TBL up 1 - 0
Nice pass by Kucherov on the entry, no clue how Point had that much room, even on the PP
2 - 0 TBL, 13 left in the second.
Stars to the PP down 2
Dumb play
"Interesting" strategy by the Stars. They gave a grand total of 8 shots on net through 2 periods and half of them came on one PP.
Would be something to see them come out really aggressive in the 3rd as they lulled TBL into a false sense of security with the rope a dope
Or is this your run-of-the-mill snorefest Stanley Cup game clincher? Just like nearly every year.

Nothing.
Dallas playing conservative, even down 2 - 0 halfway through the 3rd.
8 min left in the game
DAL to the PP still down 2.
Citrus & Smooth
Who is Conn Smythe?
It should be Point IMO - and maybe tonights goal shifts it to him.
Hedman next for me, Vasilevsky and Kucherov also have a case.
Seems like often there is a guy who plays on back to back championships with different teams.
Happy for Shattenkirk and McDonagh. McDonagh really deserved one.
I agree with you, I’d have given it to Point.
Are they allowed to kiss the cup or are there more dumbass rules?
From what I've read it basically takes all summer to schedule each guy to get time with the cup.
side note, after the Kings beat the Rangers in 2014, Jonathan Quick brought the cup to my home town hockey rink (he played youth hockey and a couple years of high school before going to Avon Old Town in my town)
Too soon.

lol, Habs win the cup if Kreider doesn't run into Price, so sorry, but not sorry.
I don't know if they were better than NYR with Price or not, but it would definitely be a better series with him.
I do think they matched up better with LAK.
Rangers could have won if they got a few 3rd period or OT breaks even though they were outplayed.

Subban and Markov were both playing over 26 min ppg.
they were gassed. I think the F's were ok.
There was a garbage can on the ice?
Either way, I stand tall like Hedman and you're just a little annoying Gary Bettman in the photo.
often times I felt like I was just having a conversation with myself until you came along.
now we have one week until the draft, so brush up on your prospect talk.
That was odd that Bettman was in the photo. They took the traditional photo later on.

Yes, I think so - should I start it now - a week out or wait?
You know me, I'll talk hockey all day, even to myself lol
Oct 9 is free agency.
I'll leave it to you and Route 9 - after the draft, we can do a free agency one. There may be some trades starting to formulate pre-draft.

On the other hand, NYG threads are prone to drying up in this climate, so maybe not as much of an issue... lulz )>:

The problem with starting it now is (for me at any rate) you have to start digging for a thread contributor's name to locate the thread.

Just sort by last post, I'm sure it will stay on or near the first page until next Tuesday, or if not, maybe someone will start a draft thread for the draft itself
