day 1 halfway done. Figured I''d start a thread for not just the Rangers games.
Rangers and Canes were rusty on specials (though CAR looked much better), 1 for 14 combined on the PP. Good intensity though, hard hitting game. I thought Hank was great.
I didn't see any of NYI vs FLA, but the score is about what I'd expect from a Trotz team.
PIT came out like a house on fire, Price stood tall and MTL's two youngsters, Kotkaniemi and Suzuki have the Habs with a 2 - 0 lead. momentum is starting to shift to MTL, but PIT can score quickly. MTL defense is a massive Achilles heel.
Imagine trading that guy for Jonathan Drouin?
2 - 1 TBL, 16 left.
It is going to be so lame to see Tampa Bay (if they win tonight) skating around an empty arena with the Stanley Cup.
lol, scroll up, Brett and I were just discussing.
I think Kucherov probably gets it, but Point has been their best player.
I think the two games the Islanders won were the two Point missed.
Case can be made for Hedman too.
Or Chris Chandler
He has had an incredible playoff. I thought he was cooked.
Gretzky all time leader with 122

Just passed Mullen. I would have guessed Modano was first - he had 58, so I was close.
lol, I am, nothing like sudden death OT.
Not sure who got their stick on it.
Not sure who got their stick on it.
I did too.
These goalies look tired to me.

Kucherov was going to end it right there.

Seems like Kucherov has been on the ice the whole OT so far
Olcyck almost laughed.
Between the trip and the blown icing call, that was pretty bad.
Seemed like Tampa was in the Dallas end for the entire period, but still alive.
I don't know who Tampa's is but isn't Dallas' Ben Bishop?

I couldn't even tell you who either backup goalie is in this series off the top of my head.

No, Bishop is the starter. I believe he's still "unfit to play" That was makes Khudobin so much more of a story, he's the backup goalie (and a pretty good but unremarkable one until this year)
Offsides?
God damm it. Why am I so sexy?
One thing that impresses me about TB, watching them night after night since during the Islanders series and a chunk of BB, is how quickly each of their lines exits the offensive zone to avoid delayed offsides and then near instantaneously initiate new attack, via hard skating and quick reaction time. Yes, they have a ton of star power, but they are playing very disciplined, hard nosed game. Cooper is a whiny, dislikable xxxx, but I give him credit for instilling game in TB's game.

not sure why he was so far away from the goal. He tried to fly back in there and hit Perry but it was too late.
That scrum seemed to materialize out of nothing, it did not look to me like an especially promising entry. Two OT games in two nights, mental fatigue piled on physical fatigue. Hedman has had a terrific series.
The OT play was so sloppy. Guys were making lazy plays, getting way out of position. You saw a lot of mental errors.
I wish they gave them two days off at this point in the series.
Game 6 of the Stanley Cup final tonight.

Although the #rangers will try to get Pietrangelo, he’s unlikely to sign. His first choice as of now is the #leafsforever
and “hopes” they are able to make the necessary moves to make room for him.
and FA starts right afterwards (I believe on October 9)

According to @MurphysLaw74
the Florida Panthers are trying to trade for Krugs negotiating rights. We are hearing that Winnipeg is in this as well.

The Philadelphia Flyers have made Shayne Gostisbehere available for trade, per @PierreVLeBrun
. Adds: “For all the trade rumors linked to him in the past, this is really the first time #AnytimeAnywhere
have shown a serious willingness to move him if they get the right offer.”
Not sure a specific location, but in general, seems like he will be moved.
Same thing I asked. Apparently with only one year on his deal, and a surplus of wings, WIN is looking to deal from a strength and Laine will need to be paid. a lot. I think it would take a massive offer to land Laine, but sounds like Laine or Ehlers will be moved (or could be moved).
Also, rumblings about Laine's attitude, but I hesitate to share things like that beyond a casual mention, because who knows if it's true.
Askarov is making a mad dash up draft boards with his KHL play (3 starts, 0.74 GAA and .974 save percent - ridiculously SSS but video game numbers).
Also kind of funny Jan Mysak, once a late 1st/early to mid 2nd guy - is 12, the Habs can't even get him if he goes #12.
Here is his 1st round

Good move by the B's to get at least something for Krug, as they aren't going to resign him.
Hoping for a Dallas win tonight!!!!
Also saw something on Twitter saying the league is targeting a December 1 start date. That will be brutal on the Finals teams. 3.5 month break down to 2.
I think TB closes it out tonight. Rooting for the opposite. Fortunately my hit rate these playoffs is below 50%.
Laine to the Flyers or Islanders makes sense to me if they can put a package together.
