day 1 halfway done. Figured I''d start a thread for not just the Rangers games.
Rangers and Canes were rusty on specials (though CAR looked much better), 1 for 14 combined on the PP. Good intensity though, hard hitting game. I thought Hank was great.
I didn't see any of NYI vs FLA, but the score is about what I'd expect from a Trotz team.
PIT came out like a house on fire, Price stood tall and MTL's two youngsters, Kotkaniemi and Suzuki have the Habs with a 2 - 0 lead. momentum is starting to shift to MTL, but PIT can score quickly. MTL defense is a massive Achilles heel.
That's not in the Rangers best interest, Brettski
You are a smart fucking cookie 🍪
Like to think I know a little something about the NHL, but MTL 3 games to 1 over the Pens with both teams healthy.. I DID NOT see this coming. Not that im disappointed, but surprised. Pens just looked lifeless to me.

I don't think anyone saw it coming...but it was the 5 vs. 12 matchup so the upset was meant to be. :D
And more importantly, the Rangers. We need Blue Jackets to knock off the Maple Leafs; Blackhawks to knock off the Oilers; and Wild to stay alive against the 'Nuckers.
But seriously, congrats. Good luck in the playoffs.
REALLY? Wow. I wonder what they knew.

No idea. Maybe that the Pens D was brutal and Carey Price was healthy and rested.

You don't remember Pittsburgh was going downhill before the "pause"? They lost 6 in a row, won 3 out of 11.
They got no depth and they really looked like shit prior to this series.

Nope, didn't remember that. I don't think the Canadiens expected to be in the postseason. They seemed to be in a bit of a rebuild when they traded away Ilya Kovachuk, Marco Scandella and Nate Thompson
Oilers score. No Tyler Ennis.

Islanders were playing their worst hockey of the season before the break. Rangers were going on a nice run before the break. What happened before the break didn't really mean much
Come on. You knew the Rangers would be a disappointment for the 79th year in a row.
Actually, Outside of Crosby and Malkin in certain moments, everyone played like shit. That's what's fun about the NHL playoffs. NUKED.

has punched their ticket to the 2020 stanley cup playoffs.
the Predators are in the Lafreniere sweepstakes.
So what is everyone expecting with this guy?
Or is he going to be a Alexandre Daigle?
Nothing is guaranteed with the NHL draft, but Lafreniere is probably the best rated #1 overall pick since McDavid.
3 - 2 CHI, almost halfway through the 3rd
Koskinen started to go to the bench and then went back in the net but the extra skater already went on.
Oilers going down.
24th and 23rd teams in the tournament likely to advance.
no Crosby
no Malkin
I don't think this is what the NHL wanted by expanding the field.
but I'll take it.
and VAN has so much skill.
This is entertaining shit!
what a disaster for CBJ
MIN is entered in the Lafreniere sweepstakes
Seth Jones is probably my favorite non-Habs player, but he needs Werenski to make the best D pair in the league.
@ChartingHockey
Reality vs expectation
MTL has beaten expectation by ~8 goals. They've scored ~1 more goal than expected and Price saved 7 goals that should've been. That's how you pull off an upset.
