End of 1985 Giants-49ers playoff game: such a huge victory!

Other than the Super Bowl wins, this was about as giddy as fans got for a playoff win in team history. The Giants finally beat the 49ers in the playoffs!

Sunday's post: The Niners knocked the #NYGiants out of the playoffs in 1981 & 1984. In the 1985 Wild Card @Giants Stadium the NYG knocked out the defending champs. SF failed on 3 4th down conversions in a 17-3 Giants stepping stone win & Parcells got 2 buckets. #GiantsPride

Madden's analysis gives the most credit to improvements in the OL (and run game: Morris). Does it make as much difference in today's game? Pretty big indictment of the past few years of GM-ing if you can make any sort of case that it does.
Niners were 2 time Super Bowl Champions at their peak...

...so to beat them was as surprising to Giant fans as it was to anyone - after the Giants beat them, I thought Chicago would be a worthy adversary, but that their Offense was far less dynamic than SF, Giants would win a close one.

Wrong.
Looks like the Giants and Phil Simms...
