and then comes to the majors and looks like a long term solution at 3B.
What I can't understand is his "bad" defensive metrics.
He made some bad plays last year. He had a bunch of errors. But you also see what he's capable of. That'll work itself out. It is funny though. His glove got him to the majors but his bat is keeping him here.
we have now. Maybe my favorite is Urshela. Like even now I’m still remembering the narrative that he was a defensive guy, and that’s what we were told when he came up. Then he just started mashing and hasn’t stopped. Just a stellar job of player development by the Yanks
I don't know this answer hence why I am asking the question.
Paxton had an injury this offseason. Most felt he wouldn't have been ready for the start of the season. I don't know when he really started to start working out again. Is it possible the Yanks took it very slow with him to guarantee he'd be ready to go when baseball started back up and could that be why he doesn't have that extra few mph on his fastball?

developing guys is the story for me - the guys we drafted and the guys we traded for or signed off the scrap-heap. Love it.

Good question. Don’t know the answer. However, I’m hoping he’s working his way back and as long as he’s at the top of his game come post season the Yankees should be ok.

Wasn't the injury related to his throwing arm? The lack of velocity can't be a coincidence. Would love for him to get right and price himself out of our budget. Doesn't seem likely though.
was one of the best defending outfielders last year and he hit lefties better than righties (less power). No reason to trot Andujar out there in a lineup where we need lefties.
Took a bad angle. Played it like an infielder. He'll make his mistakes. Got to live with him out there until he gets it.
As Hicks misreads another ball but gets it. He just must be not seeing it against the empty stadium?????
No reason we don't score 10 tonight.
The two doubles by Pillar and Martinez are on Hicks tonight.

Let's go!

Judge was out.
He is all about himself. He does a routine play, he struts around like his farts don't stink.
He makes a mistake, he mopes about it for a week.
Judge was out.
He moves well for a panda guy and has a great arm.

This guy has been pretty bad behind the plate for sure

King needs to locate better. He stuff moves but he is not locating it well.

that was quite a hottake there between innings!
They need to fix this shit. two IF on each side of second at all times and they can't be standing in the outfield.

Hitters could also adjust.
Urshela is not better than Chapman in any universe.
