Great opening credits featuring T-Bone Walker doing "West Side Baby" and an incredible mural by Archibald Motley. Good movie too, starring Denzel and based on book by Walter Mosley. Devil In a Blue Dress - T-Bone Walker - ( New Window )
speech filmed from over Brando's shoulder. Its not a typical opening credits format that you guys may be talking about, they only should the Godfather logo and play the theme before, but since there is no opening credits rollup I submit this because its integrated in. So its basically an opening credit.
you have a prison break, a police chase, a cheer leading victory pyramid, some light comedy accompanies by the perfect opening music and an introduction to almost all the supporting characters.

Totally forgot about Do the Right Thing, and would not have thought of this on my own. But, as soon as I saw your post I remembered it and had to watch it. Thank you.

Oh, wow. A police chase. Ah, shit!
The opening scene of Wedding Crashers was hysterical.
Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life . . . But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?
Brilliant John Williams soundtrack accompanied by a view of the Marin Coastline, The San Francisco Bay and then Downtown San Francisco featuring the fictional Glass Tower. Opening Credits - ( New Window )

Couldn't find the full 5 minutes but the "introduction" is linked below - yes that is a very young Tom Hardy in a supporting role.
Here is the piece that follows that when they get in the Audi with the Cult's She Sells Sanctuary.

My mistake. It wasn't "You Really Got Me". It was "All Day and All of the Night"
BTW -- that's Kevin Costner in the role of the deceased pal...he ended up on the cutting room floor at that stage of his career.

Although Wedding Crashers should make any movie thread list imv as well Robbie.
It's not bad. Haven't seen it in a while, but I just remember the plot was a bit hard to follow even though the premise was pretty simple.
Jaws needs a mention though. Sets the tone for the movie.
