Fans at sporting events

So are there people going to games any where in the World?
Do we wait until a vaccine?
There clearly is an element missing, better than nothing absolutely, but something missing. Golf was going to permit fans but that got put off, I thought MLB was talking about 20% occupancy.
Nascar had 20,000 people at bristol a few weeks ago

Will most likely do it again in a couple of weeks..

Not sure if any other tracks have plans for fans..
I believe Dover announced no fans at their upcoming race

.
It all depends on the virus and local laws

..
Nascar has a natural advantage

in that those tracks are huge. You can limit seating for distance and still havexa CD decent crowd. Dover is a smaller track then some of those massive super speedways
We are treating this virus so differently..??I have no idea...

I am totally confused.....

I guess the vaccine is the end game....but people will freak when people keep dying even with the vaccine

a significant percentage of the population will NOT get the vaccines. When you politicize a health issue, people dig their heels in, the greater good be damned. Smallpox was beaten because people universally got vaccinated. Will not happen with COVID.
The importance of the vaccine is it being an option

if you don’t get one that’s on you. So yeah it’s the likely end game from a liability standpoint, only so much blame you can pass to others.
UT was talking about having

Memorial Stadium 1/2 full. This is from a couple of weeks ago, so I don't know if that's still accurate. I think that's loco, but that's me.

Latest I saw was they were considering limiting it to 25%, but I don't think any decision has been made.

New Zealand rugby...

I have a good friend who traveled to New Zealand about a month ago. He posted all the border control and quarantine stuff they went through - essentially frequent and regular testing and quarantine for two weeks and consecutive negative test results. Very strict and well enforced quarantine - military or police or some such thing. Very polite and professional but well organized and extremely serious and strict. Once they cleared quarantine they were freed to go around the country business as usual. One of the pictures my friend posted was at a packed stadium for a rugby event. No masks, no distancing, just life as usual. This was about a week or two ago.

But here in America? I’m actually really surprised to learn there were fans at NASCAR. Everything we know about transmission would indicate to me that it’s not safe to be at a sporting event. And yeah, even outside, there’s just a lot at risk. I suppose if you’re outside and have a mask and distance that’s better than being inside. But still, the risk compared to the reward just isn’t worth it to me or for my family.
