Ok, I had a crazy idea while trying to fall asleep lastnight... here goes..
First, do a bubble format. Have 4 locations. NY/LA/Dallas/Minny Split the league by divisions, so each NFC/AFC division has a home location. so 8 teams per location.
Have a game every day. 1 game during the week and 4 on Sunday, with the Week ending on the Sunday Night game.
Traveling teams would play 8 days after the day they played, that way they always have time for testing. The home teams would either get 6/7 days depending on schedule
The season could be wrapped up really quick and it would be really cool having a game every day.
I know it's crazy and the NFL would never go for it, and lets not mention the TV broadcast nightmare that would create lol.
I'm not really suggesting this, more of a thought exercise if anything
It isn't just the venue - it is having all the players, coaches, trainers, etc in the same location with no outside interaction. Hundreds of people with the necessity of ample practice facilities, workout facilities, lodging, food, etc.
take over a college athletic campus - and basically have a bubble of 55 players - 15 coaches and 30 support staff
100 people .
You have yellow zone of other people that are around this bubble to help with meals etc but never in contact with the players and staff in bubble .
on game day the team flys on private jet to bus to take directly to stadium - no-one is near the locker room .. the tv staff is completely away from team .
teams plays game and gets out of stadium and returns to their bubble .
16 weeks is a long time without family but this is the only way NFL has a season .
Gordo, I like your spirit
If they want to find a way, they can.
