I don't know if that would have translated into a win. Carolina is able to outworking the Rangers to the puck and out muscling them in front of the nets routinely... Lundquist certainly didn't stand on his head, but he got no help in front of him.
Rangers look much better in this game and could win it, exciting everyone. Impressed by how much difference the switch in goalies has made for the home team.
and Boucher and they've been gushing most of the game about Shesterkin, didn't really even mention Reimer, other than suggesting maybe Brindamour made a mistake, until the last ridiculous sequence.
If you watch the D with Hank it seems the exchange is sometimes awkward like after all this time they're not sure what he's going to do with the puck.
Shesterkin seems more comfortable handling the puck, and the D can anticipate what he's going to do with it more easily and everything keys off breakouts and zone exits IMO.
Not sure if there is any truth to this it's just a theory, since I don't watch that much of the Rangers but it sure seems like it's the case to me when I do watch.
can’t complete a simple outlet pass then he’s pretty much useless back there. He’s had a brutal series. I expect Staal and Smith to be terrible, by Tony should be a contributor and he’s been completely exposed

Staal, Smith and TDA but the offense has to be better. 4 goals in 3 playoff games isn’t going to get it done. Future is bright though with Igor in goal and reinforcements coming on the blue line.
before the turnover to Aho, Trouba was playing a great game. he was physical, active offensively (missed the net about 4 times though) and solid with his gap control with the speedy Canes forwards. Plus he was playing the "hard" minutes.
a turnover that results in a goal wipes it all away though.
Trouba has had a terrible year....and he's signed for 8M per. Pionk had a better year and Ville Heinola looks promising.
Right now, it looks like an absolute brutal trade and subsequent extension.
Not sure why you like Pionk so much but not TDA. they're the same player basically. Pionk was absolutely brutal today. I think he was on the ice for every Flames goal and personally responsible for a couple of them.

Sums it up well, I actually thought he’s had a decent series. At least didn’t look overwhelmed like some. Neither he or Tony coveted themselves in glory there but Aho is pretty sick

Trouba is physical and gives up his body, but he becomes out of position because of it.
We will lose if we don't. Carolina is too good playing with a lead. The Rangers need to get them out of their element.
There we go.
but holy shit talk about puck possession.
Welp. It was nice having a lead for 2 minutes.
Need to get it back.
Damn
Sometimes they just don't. But all's fair. . . .

To be fair, there have been a few really bad giveaways, but so far they haven't come back to bite them in the ass.
The defense is just so careless

Defensive breakdown in the corner. Gave the guy too much space - he fell down got up and still had the puck.
and I hate Foegele.
I think they stripped and got caught with their shorts down:)
I have a feeling he's more banged up than we know

Who said I don't like TDA?
