He basically wrote this article before even asking Judge his question. He is basically saying that people have already given Judge a pass before anything happened. Judge answered the question as best as possible but it is just odd. He thinks our HC is concerned with public perception. I'm fairly confident saying Judge doesn't give a shit about anything else but running this team to the best of his ability. I guarantee he's not looking at this as a throw away year. He wants to win now like every other coach.
Nobody wants to win now more than Mara and Gettleman.
There's no real long range planning in this off-season's strategy. They may wind up with a little more cap space because Solder opted out, which they neither expected nor wanted.
The cap flexibility NYG has going forward is on par with the Knicks. Yes, they can get rid of a lot of people in the next couple of years but: then what? Who are the good players?
Forget for a Moment That the Article is About Judge...
Barring some kind of team revolt, ALL NFL rookie head coaches should be given a pass this year. Just too many obstacles for them to overcome to get a fair evaluation of their coaching abilities.

Lets see these same writers give him a pass after a bad loss.
I hate devices like, "Judge would never publicly admit it but.."
I mean, unless you have evidence of his private admissions, you're just putting your own view out there and saying that anything Judge says to the contrary has to be a lie.
There are a couple other times he makes claims without prood, like "It's what the Giants admittedly should have done when Gettleman took over in 2018 following a 3-13 season"...who admitted that? Name names.
How did the Giants get stuck with such.losers for.beat writers?

The "pass" I'm referring to is the one from NFL team ownership regarding HC job security.
You don’t hire a 38 year old special teams coach with zero head coaching experience and expect to win right away. The Judge is a project - for better or for worse - and he has a long leash with Mara. Covid just makes that leash a little bit longer. Getty gets a pass too - obviously should not - but he just as obviously does.
There’s a reason the Giants are among the two or three worst teams in the NFL.
Jordan is an Eagles fan troll that sweeps this board for content
John Mara - prior to covid - already said Judge has a long leash, and that we may have gotten him a year early or so, so be patient with him.
He doesn’t need a Covid excuse. He’s got the owner’s support.
Our beat writers are absolute blithering idiots, constantly trying to shit on the team or pull cheap gotcha tricks, with one or two exceptions. I’ve always been surprised that this particular idiot knows how to read and write. Then again, he’s still 1/4 step above the Leonards and Lombardos of the world.
And here’s something else fans seem intent to ignore or forget, teams are always changing game plans and philosophies. We’re the 86 giants running the same offense as the 84 giants? What about the 90 giants?
The NFL is constantly evolving. Teams are constantly evolving.
Every team is dealing with the same shit. This is nonsense. The giants aren’t at a bigger disadvantage than anyone else.
Maybe we just let the season play out and see what happens. Then some of you can come with all the excuses or condemnations you want, once the ink is dry.
The well run teams with the right players will thrive. Period.
Same HC so they just be at an advantage? But are they really? They lost their QB, Brady. They have turned over a large number of their coaching staff the last few years. Are the pats really at an atvantage? Or are they constantly evolving and trying to implement something new?
The entire nfc has been flipped upside down except for philly. And their OL is a wreck. What if wentz gets clobbered week 1 and is out? So much for all those advantages.
The NFL was, is and always will be a war of attrition. It’s a game of adaptation, adjustments and survival. Continuity is nice but in the NFL continuity is more a byproduct of success. Success doesn’t always come from continuity. We’ve seen dozens of first year coaches win and win big. But of all of a sudden first year HCs are now at a disadvantage?

I never want to click his articles. It was easier to entertain The Pineapple's shananigans than with than this toolbag.

It’s a convenient theory. Doesn’t mean it’s true.
