They are taking bows and saying this is 100% because of their concerns for players safety? That would be highly commendable if it were true, but come on now. They lost most of their scheduled games because conferences are going to a mostly conference only schedule. They had no one to play because they aren’t in a conference in football anymore.
CT has 35 states (including even RI) on the list requiring a mandatory two week quarantine if you are there for more than 24 hours. There was no way they could complete a schedule under those circumstances.

100% agree with this.
Edsall is the BIG winner here...he gets a free pass for this year, and another year in 2021. If they remain an Independent, they might as well drop down to FCS level for football where they would have a chance to compete for championships.
I still can't believe they rehired Edsall after the way he left them.
He did build the program the first time around and had some real success. I agree they should drop down to 1-AA and build from there. There are a lot of good competitive programs just in the eastern US alone

I took a trip there to see BC/UConn when I was a student at BC - I loved it. I think the initial plan was for the Pats to possibly share a stadium with UConn (before the Gillette deal). UConn scaled things down a bit when the Pats bailed, but I could definitely see the makings of an NFL site. Great place to watch a game, and Diana Taurasi gave our bus the finger when we pulled in. Gotta respect that.

It is a shame what happened to their football program. I had season tickets there for the first few years but it got to be too much with having the Giant tickets as well on the weekends when both had home games. It was a great place to tailgate and they won a bowl game in their first year in the Big East and second year at the BCS level. They won the Big East twice under Edsall (once outright) and played in a New Years bowl game after the 2020 season. Then Edsall left and they hired Pasqualoni and they went completely downhill, attendance tanked and now they have no conference. As someone who watched them go from the lower level to plying in a BCS bowl game in seven years and now into the toilet it really is sad what happened to the program.

and those whose basic financial needs are dependent on college sports.
The damn Chinese virus stole at least a year of the best part of their lives.
Incredibly sad.
Q: How do you set up Randy Edsall in a mid-major program?

Dude - I hear you (dam Chinese virus aside - : ) ) ....but, what are you going to do? It is not just them. How about the folks (High School, College, etc ...) who started 2019 in August thinking that this was their final year .... and they were going to go to their PROM (HS) and graduate (HS and College) in June? Shit happens .... this happens to be shit on a Global Level. If we all were a little more cooperative (IMO) this will pass quickly. IF not, we have to rely on modern medicine (for a vaccine) and the government to set up some rules. Either way we wait .... It sucks,.... but, so did other times in History.

Also produced Will Beatty.
I wonder if any football programs will be completely done from this. Looks like UConn wasn't doing too well financially.

I guess that, after Bob Diaco, anyone looks good.
