This guy sucks

Let’s be honest here. And I’m not one to complain about the lineup, it drives me crazy when people do it on every freakin game thread. But I don’t care, I’m gonna be that guy this time. Taking your two best players out of the lineup on the same day after having a day off two days ago is inexcusable. They have actually had a ton of days off through this mess. With only a 60 game season these guys shouldn’t be “resting” two days after having yet another day off. It’s infuriating

That's really been my only complaint over the lineup the last couple of seasons. Guys getting a day off before or after a scheduled off day.

That and the team not believing in "hot" eg, a guy has four hits or hits two HR's the game before and sits the next day for no apparent reason other than load management.

Bugs the crap out of me.
Thats it gary

ah - RIP Horace. Age 81. The "Horace Clarke years" is a phrase with meaning to Yanks fans of a certain age. He was not bad, he was not great - but he was a fixture during an era of mediocrity. Likable guy though, and a decent 2B.

No one was backing up that tough catch try -- no movement toward the ball by anyone else. And Tauchman get spotted way center field for that triple down the line (after two fouls in that direction) a couple of innings ago. Does not look like it should to me. Am I just being fussy?

Hicks was backing it up like he's supposed to in case it got by Tauchman. He was clearly in the frame running behind him backing up the play.

It's just Tauchman kind of swatted the ball forward and towards CF with his glove. Not sure what you expected there as Torres has to be covering second and a bit of a no mans land there for Wade, IMO. Normally he wouldn't be anywhere near a lined single to RF. More like in a cutoff position to line up the throw in to 2nd.

My Dad called him Horrible Clark. Your summation fits to a tee. Neither good nor bad, and fit in with the rest of the team. My dad was spoiled by their success in the 50s and early 60s.

Rest in peace, Horace.

I was a kid when Horace played. I actually liked him very much.

How do you pinch hit Judge when all you need is a single when you had DJ sitting on the bench with a 417 batting average. Plus no one in baseball was more money than him last year in getting in runs in scoring positon
Boone out foxed himself

still has a spot on this team? he and Frazier seem to be destined either to collect dust or get moved. I'm not against keeping young talent pushing for PT when the injuries inevitably come and I don't want the Yankees to sell low on any of them this season.

I think Miggy does but not Frazier.

Miggy might have to bide his time this year but next year once Gardy is gone, it opens up a spot in the OF. Frazier I think is one spot behind Miggy and I'm not sure how he fits.
I think Frazier is the kind of player they will miss when he is elsewhere. I can see him raking somewhere else, unless he is complete rust by the time he gets out of the Bronx.

Judge in cold was a bad call, LeMahieu would have been the right call, but we had a shot, Voit just missed it. In my opinion, Tachman should lead off and play every day, he is better then Gardner and Hicks, LeMahieu bat 2nd and Judge 3rd, how long before you settle the spots, you bat Stanton 4th because he protects Judge, I bat Hicks 5th because he hits from both sides, Urshella, Torres then move Torres up higher and higher once he gets going, then Voit, then Sanchez. When Gardner plays you move it around. I don't worry about hitting Hicks 5th, because he walks a lot.

Right, that projects to 45 friggin wins and running away with the Division.

I even liked him complaining about the air horns when he knew there was nothing to be done about them, and it would make him look silly to a lot of people, yet he was out there sticking up for his team.

I'm sure his players appreciated him doing it and he probably also needed to vent a bit after dealing with shitty HP ump's for three games straight. Guy got to blow off some steam, good for him.

Some things never change around here. :)

Also, guys.. remember that there's really not a huge advantage to finishing in x,y,z position this year.

It's not like a typical season where there is significant incentive to win the division so that you can avoid the play-in.

All the Yankees need to do is get into the dance. After a 9-3 start and given where they are now, the odds of them doing that is probably already over 90%.

The only thing that matters is staying healthy, keeping the virus out of the locker room, and getting the rotation somewhat in order.

Monty didn't have a great night last night, but I still think I'll get to a point where I would trust him as a #3/#4 in a postseason series by the time we get there.

Pax is the "X" factor here. He's gotta figure it out. He was so good down the stretch last year and he pitched really well in Game 5 against Houston. He won me over in that one, so I'm not going to give up on him already - there's obviously something wrong physically or mechanically and they need to figure it out.

I think we're gonna see Schmidt before all's said and done in 2020.
