Who warms your heart more in connection with the Giants organization? Say you see someone with a Giants 80 jersey from the front. Who comes to mind first?
Not even close. Shockey was a headcase while VC was a good dude & helped us win a title (I get Shockey got a ring for '07, but do we win it all with him that postseason? Who knows?)

He had the spirit of the Giants from Day 1. Local kid. UDFA. Amazing breakout game in preseason. Super Bowl winner. Never did anything stupid off the field. Loved the dance, it was real and not phony, made up, "look at me" type of thing.
...is it because the NYG made the policy that injured players aren’t permitted there? Seems like the SB is an opportunity to make an exception. Gotta be a bigger reason that I am forgetting...
Cruz all day long. Great guy. From the neighborhood. Came out of nowhere. Saved Christmas. One of my all time favorite Giants.
I don’t hate Shockey but he was a head case. Even his tough guy stuff, and he was a tough guy for sure, I don’t know, he always seemed like a bit too over the top. Plus, Shockey played in the shadow of Bavaro. And yeah I know it was years and years between them, but Bavaro would run block you on your ass or make a big catch and then run over and then just hand the football to the ref and head back to the huddle. Shockey was a terrific athlete and he left it all on the field, don’t get me wrong, really terrific football player. But the hair and the tattoo and the antics on the field and the loose cannon stuff in the locker room, that all conspired against Shockey and I think the Giants too. And all this Shockey stuff I’m watching having been raised on the legendary play of the great Mark Bavaro. “Act like you’ve been there before. Look at Bavaro, practice like him, play like him, win like he did.”
Anyway, yeah, Cruz for me and it’s not even close.

I completely agree with you on Cruz and also on us potentially not winning in 2007 if Shockey was on the playoff roster. Shockey was a terrific player here but he bitched about getting the ball constantly and I feel like he would have disrupted that momentum that we had late that season.
...yes is disintegrated into a nut job at the end, but he gave a week minded team an aggressive tough guy attitude when he arrived in '02. we know the highlights.
See. I'm a Shockey guy.
Victor Cruz
The other guy didn’t
