I know we just had a Best Pizza thread not too long ago, and folks were raving about the Connecticut variety.
Well, it looks like there's a Wicked Crust Pizza place opening in our area this week. The facebook photos look good....is this really Pizza Nirvana ??
As a side note -- so many of the Mom & Pop restaurants are closing due to the COVID. They just can't make it on the reduced capacity rules. Wicked Crust is jumping right into a closed Andolini's Pizza joint....this was good pie, but their business dried up. This scenario is being repeated at several good smaller eateries.

Sally's is awesome. Pepe's is the original. BAR on Crown Street is all star too. Some other good ones in the greater New Haven area (Zuppardi's in West Haven)
Oh fuck yes. What's all on it?
Don't sleep on the mashed potato pizza a Bar. Sounds odd but people swear by it...
Good Pizza was a mystery to the Charleston area for a long time. Some Pizza places think sausage is that Jimmy Dean crap. We need real sausiccia on the pie.
Andolini's had the right idea, but the COVID put them out of business. I was talking to the guy before he closed, he said the store rent was over $10 grand a month......You've got to sell a lot of pizza to cover that.
I'm very much a plain pizza kind of guy. If those aren't good I'm not going to bother with the intricate toppings. When I was at UConn we used to go to Willington pizza every so often so I've had the potato pizza before - its fine if you are into it but it isn't my thing. I'll eat it if someone orders it but i'll stick to the regular stuff normally.
What I wouldn't give for a good White Clam Pizza. Been years since I've had one.
