TE Evan Engram “feels great” after a strong and aggressive offseason of rehab. He had surgery late last year on his foot. Engram says there never was a doubt he would be ready for training camp and he’s not worried about the perception that he’s injury prone.

Evan Engram: It's a good offense in my eyes...Tight end, in general, is a very detail-specific position. There are a lot of things we have to learn.

Markus Golden admitted he was frustrated by how the offseason played out but he is just going to work hard and use everything as motivation. "I feel good about being back. It's a good place...At the end of the day, I love playing ball."

Will Hernandez on OL Coach Colombo: It's awesome having somebody that's actually been there, done that. He definitely has a lot of inside information...He's one of us, one of the guys.
On offense due to the hire of Jason Garrett as OC. Garrett loves to feature the TE but he has never had an athletic threat like Engram before. Hopefully Engram can finally stay healthy because if he does he put up big numbers.
he's shown flashes and this system does seem like a really good fit for him. Sort of the Leonard Davis role back when Garrett was OC in Dallas.
I agree, Garrett's system along with the hiring of Colombo are certainly going to help Hernandez.
It's great to hear Hernandez compliment Gates especially as the potential starting center. If he wins the starting job the Giants could have their starting interior set with Hernandez, Gates, and Lemieux for the next 7+ years.
Hernandez's comments along with the recent extension for Gates has me believing that the Giants intend for him to be the starting center.
RE: RE: Evan Engram should be the most excited player
So should his back-ups, given Engram's bad luck with injuries.
Kaden Smith was one of the few bright spots on offense last season. While he is clearly not the best athlete he played surprisingly well. He will likely never be a true #1 TE but he is an excellent compliment to Engram as an inline TE. Was last season a fluke or have the Giants found their next Jake Ballard?
In six starts last season Kaden Smith made 30 receptions for 267 yards and 3 touchdown's.
Claiming Kaden Smith was one of Gettleman's best moves last season. The Giants found three excellent young players from late on day three of the draft in Darius Slayton, Ryan Connelly, and SF's 6th round pick Kaden Smith.
1) They feed Saquon - too many times, he had a huge 1st quarter and then was forgotten. See the Eagle game.
2) Use Evan Engram correctly
That being said, this team's issues are on the defensive side of the ball. Markus Golden might be frustrated, but says something nobody was interested in him in the entire NFL.
I don't think they are at a major disatvantage due to limited practice. Why? Two reasons: Every other team is dealing with this and there isn't a track record of first year coaches failing in year's past. I mean the Giants alone saw McAdoo and Fassel win 21 games combined in year 1. Reeves wasn't a rookie here but he won 11 games in year 1. IF there isn't a history of first year HCs failing why should they be at a disadvantage now? Yea I know they have less time to implement new things, but so does everyone else. No one can prove I am wrong, so deal the optimism. I caved on this point last week a little bit, but I have gathered my footing on this hill and intend to die on it. No PROOF!
