moving Alonso to another spot in the BA is fine. As is giving him some time to DH.
JD Davis just keeps looking great at 3B and McNeil is looking great in LF. Didn't expect that combo to thrive but I think I'd leave those 2 in those spots until further notice (with Gimenez at 2b).

Same. JD’s arm was spooky last year. Much much improved this year and JD at 3b and McNeil in LF is worlds better than the reverse.
Lazy Ramos can’t stop a strike three to end the inning since he’s on one knee all the time and Soto hits one 700 feet. Just an awful awful start when they needed a good one.
sort of thing happens with Matz. He's a #5 starter/innings eater type who has a history of injury issues. He's good enough to start in MLB, but to have him as anything more than a number of guys competing for the last spot or two in a rotation is a bad situation.
Given some bad luck and some bad decisions, Matz is basically our #2 starter right now. Whoof.
If we're looking for potential bright spots this year, let's hope that Peterson can look like a reliable MLB starter and maybe Gsellmen gets his career back on track and rediscovers some of that second half 2016 form (can't believe that's already 4 years ago, time just flies).
Those ballparks either have altitude, climate or size concerns with keeping baseballs in the ballpark. How does City Field enter that equation? It's one of the larger ballparks in a region with humid conditions. Yankee Stadium with it's ludicrous distances down the line makes more sense than City as a candidate for such a device.

Matz is one of the most overrated Mets in recent memory.
why do you need to add humidors to do it even further? Also, makes me LOL at Matz's performance to see balls still being jacked all over the place for long distances.
He has the ability, the 'stuff' pitchers dream about. He's just mentally weak. He can't handle the pressure, the moment. When he needs a pitch he can't execute it. He's soft. My brother keeps telling me be patient, many lefties take longer to figure it out but I've officially given up on him.
It does not contain a broken down, overpaid former client of VanFleecedagain for someone like Gimenez and Szapucki.
I like JD Davis but big picture this would be a major win for the Mets. I'm a massive Jung fan (has some DW to his game). DeGrom's age/prime complicate any such "move" like this however.

I like Jung as well. I was hoping the Mets would target him in the draft last year. That being said, my question with him is how much power will he eventually develop into. Texas Tech is a bit of a band box. If you are going to be playing him at 3B you would like a bit more pop. More than DW I saw Edgardo Alfonzo, but don't forget Alfonzo had 27 HR in 1999 and 25 in 2000. Not sure Jung ends up being more than 10-15 HR guy at best. Had you moved him to 2B that is more attractive. My comment was more a joke on how we have traded our best prospects and ended up with a bunch of constantly injured former clients of our GM.
tinkered with his swing a bit and he still hit .316/.389/.443 in his pro debut. He's also played a significant amount of time at SS (he likely can't hack it as a pro) but he's a solid defender. Overall value wise the Mets land a very impressive package but this isn't the kind of deal I could ever see Brodie making.
has closers stuff but horrendous control and would drive us nuts, some scouts love Tejada and Vanasco is a true lottery ticket I'd rank him in the Mets top 5 minor league SP if they landed him.
Could that moron HP umpire have waited any longer to make that strike call? Conforto is literally staring at the HP ump until he makes the strike call and then Conforto takes off to first only to be thrown out. Holy shit that was idiotic from the HP Ump.
Gimenez seems like he makes at least 1 play per game Rosario probably wouldn't make, but that would probably be true at 2b also.
Its a tough call but I dont think you can permanently bench Rosario after only watching a little over 2 weeks of Gimenez. It would destroy his value. Gimenez looks legit but I'd probably use him as a super sub and try to play them both as much as possibly until the year is out and maybe trade one in the offseason. Certainly, not helping Rosario's case that he's ice cold.

this game is going well.
Matz should opt out too he'd do less damage.

proposes a look-to-the-future move between the Rangers and Mets:
Josh Jung, Scott Heineman, Anderson Tejeda, Ricky Vanasco and Joe Barlow to the Mets for J.D. Davis, Jake Marisnick, and Chasen Shreve.
Jung was Texas’ 1st-rdr in 2019.

McNeil hitting into a brutal double play to end the inning.
