I noticed that too. On balance i'm glad he isn't getting too deep in the count. He has too big a hole in his swing to battle with two strikes while taking the best pitches to hit.
I'll take the homeruns for sure!
Smashed a two run double on a 3-2 count
It was the Canadian idiot, who is safely ignored anyway

Didn't someone here say they didn't want Monty anywhere near the postseason rotation after his last start? LOL.

I represent that!
ALL RISE!

Yankee lineup considering that Toussaint is a righty pitcher
As a practical matter, this is the maximum number of lefties the Yankees can start.
You can't put in Tauchman without replacing a lefty bat.
Wade is a back up, period.
I'd say the real issue is whether Ford (.167) can keep his job.
Nah that's not true. They could've sat Voit and put Ford at 1B, with either Gardy or Tauchman in LF with the other being the DH.
I'm not saying they should've done that, just there was a way to get one more lefty bat in there if they wanted.
I am too. Don't know how you combat it without getting into a bean ball contest. Only thing you can do is crush it and give the pitcher shit as you circle the bases.
Love it (but hate it).
8-3

Ah pitching so the batter can beat the shift. Nice piece of hitting there.
As Montgomery shits the bed
2nd eff up by DJ tonight. His fault earlier, too.
he doesn't have a chance to block a ball like that.
Exactly the same spot he let the same pitch go by a couple of games ago (that was called a wild pitch, which it wasn't then or this time either).
he doesn't have a chance to block a ball like that.
They are being coached to do it that way. It's not his choice.
After all the great catchers in Yankee history we now have a lazy, careless player who they make excuses for. As a former season ticket holder who saw Berra, Howard, and of course Munson its really sad to see him behind the plate.

Block it? It never even hit the ground. All he had to do was catch it.

No, they want the cheap pitches with framing, but he easily reached that ball. He was just lazy getting there, just like the other day.
