I don't blame him for the injuries.
And I don't blame him that though he is better as a guard, he was also the best LT on the team for most of his time here.
OG. He has good feet. But he's not powerful enough to ever sniff an All Pro or 2nd team All pro selection, and for a 20 something overall pick, that's not a great return on quality.
And as noted his quantity of play was disastrous. I'll take Hernandez after his "troubled" 2019 season over Pugh any day of the week and twice on Sundays. WH hasn't missed a game yet. Heck, I'm not sure that guy has missed a snap.
At OL, reliability is the best ability. Especially at OL, where team chemistry and cohesiveness trumps individual talent.
What do Thomas, Peart, Lemieux, Gates all have in common (as well as Hernandez and Zeitler?)
have missed that Justin Pugh was actually a decent player for us.
The problem was he was always hurt and he wanted to be paid mega-bucks as an injury prone TACKLE.
Yeah, I suppose that's true, He never played well against the Eagles though....but a big part of the rating was the fact that he started all 16 games for the Cardinals in 2019.

He may have been the best LT but that was my default. Fact is, he never played the position he was drafted for.
he was solid while healthy, but he missed a lot of time as previously pointed out and he was always running his mouth to the media. It was strange to hear so much talk from an above average player.
I can't say I watch every single lineman. I don't think any average joe can, but 9 seems a bit high from what I've seen before his injuries. These rankings are all subjective and may be a product of the fact he now blocks for the most mobile qb in the NFL. Good luck to him if we have the season, but I don't miss him
When he is actually starting games and doesn’t have to face
have missed that Justin Pugh was actually a decent player for us.

Agree with Eric. He played well here when healthy. Also, the mobile QB tend to make OL look better then they are. Ronnie Stanley will get paid megabucks for being very good, but Lamar Jackson has made him look great. Same with Tunsil and Watson
but was a better guard and wanted to be paid like a tackle. Due to injuries he was too big a risk for the Giants to sign. He is a solid Guard when healthy. I am not sorry we didnt resign him, I wouldnt have paid big money for an often injured player. Plus he didnt seem to have the best attitude publicly.
Pugh was that they kept moving him around to compensate for weaknesses at other positions. They had no problem forcing Flowers at LT even though he clearly could not play the position, yet they insisted on moving Pugh everywhere. Even if he had to play from a position he wasn't the best at.
They should have penciled Pugh in at LG and called it a day. Maybe see if he could play some LT.

If that ranking is favorable to him, it's probably not by a whole lot.

I agree.
He was still the best OL at any position but center on the Giants. Yes he was injured often, unfortunately.
Last 3 seasons:
Missed 9 games
Missed 8 games
Missed 5 games
Maybe a change of scenery made him less of a dope.
I'll never forget his ridiculous claim his injuries were caused by the Giants asking him to play multiple positions.

They play damn near every game.

Health and luck are intertwined.
Little outspoken compared to most of the other Giants OL I can recall.

Not a bad guy, not a bad player, I just didn’t like his game.

This. And I actually liked him at right tackle. He was a complainer and oft injured but he was a good blocker for us.
