Giants will have inter-squad scrimmages (HS + college style) every week, beginning next Friday. Offense and defense on opposite sidelines. Coaches providing down, distance, situation. Live football. “We just have to get them out there and let them play,” coach Joe Judge said.

Few other notes from Judge:
• On Ross Cockrell: "It doesn't always work out when you do a negotiation." Judge said adding a veteran CB isn't a priority.
• Like previous staff, Judge lauded Peppers' energy.
• Judge said Jones obviously didn't take time off during pandemic.

• If CFB is canceled, Judge says they'll have to rely heavily on tape, "which is ultimately the best scouting device anyway — what they do on the field." Obvious disadvantage is they'd be reviewing older tape for players who don't play this fall.

Jabrill Peppers said “it definitely sucked” having to spend the end of last season on injured reserve.
“I’m healthy now,” he said.
"Judge said adding a veteran CB isn't a priority. Giants have a lot of youth on the roster at the position they want to develop and while that youth struggled last year, there's been a coaching change for one, plus some of that youth was asked to do roles that weren't idea fits."
Fitting the scheme to what the players do best. Hopefully, this will produce a better outcome

Yes, but they did want to sign Cockrell. He'd be singing a different tune if Cockrell signed yesterday.

Seems like a little call out of coaching last year unless I am reading that wrong. It did seem like the secondary gave up huge cushions and overall way out of sync.
than the Giants do. Not like he picked another team over us or we got outbid by someone else... we don't think he's worth whats hes asking, so we can't be that desperate.

I think this was known already with the moves in the draft but still surprised he mentioned it. A few of us have repeatedly stated that Ballentine should not have been playing the slot. The coaching staff last year also didn't have a lot of options there. I like that Gettleman and this staff made the slot position on defense a priority with Holmes and Williamson. The quote by Judge also further cements my opinion that they like Ballentine on the outside way more.
