NFL Media reports that Kittle and the 49ers have agreed on a five-year, $75 million extension, the deal includes an $18 million signing bonus. |
that's a lot of money for a TE. Austin Hooper was the highest paid TE until now at $10.5 a year. What could Evan Engram command if he stays healthy?

So far, Engram has been the ultimate "potential" player. Has not delivered.

I'd like to think you are right, but if Engram is healthy all season and puts up 80+ 1000+ 8+ then he's more likely to come closer to Kittle money than prove it again money.
Arkansas Jeremy Sprinkle was the shoplifter, not Kittle.
Kittle played for run heavy Iowa team so he was barely thrown the ball and therefore not highlighted for scouts like a lot of the other guys. Pre draft rankings had him around 10th so he was drafted as expected, but clearly a miss in overall talent by every team.

...either in Alabama during Senior Bowl week or maybe when he was in Florida for the Outback Bowl. I'm fuzzy on the details and I may even have the wrong TE (but I don't think so). It may have been the reason he slipped to the 5th round.
