AARON JUDGE
OF, NEW YORK YANKEES

Aaron Judge (lower body) remained out of the Yankees' lineup Friday.
Judge didn't play Wednesday due to lower body tightness and apparently the off day Thursday wasn't enough to get him over the hump. Consider him day-to-day for the time being. Mike Tauchman is in right field and Clint Frazier is at designated hitter.

Prior to tonight's game, the Yankees placed OF Aaron Judge on the 10-day IL with a right calf strain (retroactive to 8/12) and recalled INF Thairo Estrada (#71) from the Alternate Site.

No question about how Frazier is going to get into the lineup now. He's going to play every day now. Hope he makes the most of it.

Really have to think twice about giving Judge a big deal if he's already so injury prone in his prime.

112 games in 2018
102 in 2019
Probably missing most of this season.
That's 3 seasons now he's missed a considerable chunk of the year.

The under hand toss. It takes to damn long to get to the bag.

Professor Falken : 8/14/2020 10:17 pm : link
he's pretty slow around the bag. He's a big guy and I just don't see the quickness. They've missed a lot of double plays so far this season.

kicking the Red Sox ass night in night out is one of them. Agreed Mook the only shame of it is it will only last 60 games for their fans to be tortured with and they can't even watch it up close in the stadium...

throwing a 3-2 curve to Jackie Bradley Jr., oh my.
Good to stomp them out
Carson53 : 8/15/2020 9:22 am : link
as Strahan would say, nice to see Torres break out as well.
Have to take advantage of their AAA pitches they have.
Ottavino was very crisp, best he has thrown all year.
Three straight fastballs to Martinez, the last one painting the black on the outside corner. Nasty slider to Boegarts
to strike him out, if he throws like that, very tough.
I love all these articles now
djm : 8/15/2020 1:33 pm : link
About all these huge lingering questions regarding judge and the yankees long term prospects. Except there are no questions. Judge will he signed long term assuming he doesn’t suffer a career ending injury by that point. The yanks and judge will he just fine and judge will be on the DL nearly every season. Everyone needs to relax. Bernie Williams went on the DL nearly every season too. And amazingly, Bernie actually got healthier as he got older.

Fans exhibit so much long term worry lately. He’s got a mild calf strain. Ok judge missed a lot of time in 2019. It’s happened before.
I think there’s this misconception
djm : 8/15/2020 1:36 pm : link
That injuries always lead to future injuries. Except that doesn’t always happen. There’s no correlation. Guys can be Injury prone in their 20s and less injury prone in their 30s. It can also go the other way. If judge was dealing with some kind of chronic or degenerative condition I could see some of the concern but that’s not the case with these injuries at all. This isn’t David Wright by a long shot.

That has to be one of the hardest hit balls at Yankee stadium. If not the hardest hit. Not only did it go 457 but it got there on a line. What a shot.

Honestly I think 457 is a little light. That thing sailed directly over the 399 sign, over the pen and halfway up the bleachers. Gary is infuriating and has a lot of downside behind the plater and with his plate discipline but when he gets a hold of one he gets a hold of one. Can't deny that.
