is calling a person who pours your coffee a barista is like calling the guy who picks up your trash a sanitation engineer. That and $6 for a cup of coffee. In fact, they should change their franchise name to Sixbucks.

is a D1 basketball head coach (Boston U) who was also my guidance counselor in high school. Either my mind went there or I stayed up too late watching football.

The only place it's $6 is at the fancy Starbucks.

Joe Judge said Andrew Thomas has gotten better every day. He is very pleased with how he's come along and he's very "coachable." Like all rookies, the true test starts Monday night.

Thomas is a big key for the team going forward. Columbo has said he makes mistakes and corrects it the next time. Just needs to play and he will figure it out. Garrett will protect him till he is ready imo.

But I’ve seen enough of his pass blocking game to say two things:
(1) At times he looks really good;
(2) And then someone will come screaming off the edge and he will look log legged and slow footed.
So, while all the talk is about helping our rookie left tackle, don’t forget the guy on the other end. He could use some help against a guy like T.J. Watt!
Bottom line: we should make running between the tackles a significant goal.

It has sort of flown under the radar that the RT situation isn't actually great. At least if thomas is bad, you can understand rookie struggles. The majority opinion seems to be that the offensive line is better than last year, and I'm not assuming that.

I think this OL is "potentially" much better than last year's product; however, due to youth and inexperience i see a lot of early struggles by this group. Pittsburgh will FEAST on this OL unless we use max protection.

This line will be better than last years unit but that’s not very difficult. The main reason why the line will be better is Marc Colombo.
Colombo replaces the worst OL coach in the NFL. There is a reason why Hunter was out of football for over a year when the Giants hired him.
Getting Solder off the field is an immediate upgrade. It’s almost impossible for Thomas to be as bad as Solder was last year.
I honestly believe that Thomas will UPGRADE run blocking as a rookie over Solder. However, I have to believe Thomas has a lot to learn as a pass blocker and therefore the team will have a TE on his hip to help. Kaden Smith will play a large role in our success this year because if he upgrades our TE blocking and can catch those short, easy passes efficiently we are an improved run offense and have less 3rd and longs.
I have to believe Columbo upgrades the OL via better coaching and just motivation. He is a fiery guy who participates and heck he played the game!
The Giants have a chance in this game IF they run the ball well. And throw short well. And don't turn it over. We lose easy if their pass rush just obliterates the OL. In all honesty, I believe we use mass protection and Jones must be able to get the ball out very quickly and hope guys like Shepard, Tate and Slayton make plays with their legs.
Pittsburgh has a solid OL and I have to believe even 38 year old Big Ben will eat up this secondary.
Last, I think our DL does a great job stopping the run and giving our LB's lanes to make plays.

But it’s very possible he may struggle a good bit at the outset of the season so that you don’t see much of an upgrade from Solder’s performance. Particularly in pass protection.
He’ll wind up getting it but likely won’t be at a level that satisfies BBI until next season or so.
Yeah, there’s no pleasing that Joe Jones jerk.
Wait, who the hell is Joe Jones and why is he at Starbucks?
Doh!
that wouldn't leave room for price inflation.
