the Chiefs have speed to burn. Sammy Watkins was the 5th pick in the entire draft and he isn't the Chiefs most dangerous receiver. Hardeman, who would start here, saw one target. We have a long way to go.
style can be a good change of pace but I personally dont care for it otherwise.
im old school but i like that controlled, methodical gameplan that wears the other team out. its a thing of beauty to watch, and its a winning strategy. imo
Chiefs speed is only one aapect that makes them dangerous

Joe Judge's message to Giants fans: We're working to build a tough, smart, fundamentally sound football team. ... We're going to go out there and work to make the area proud.
Monday, they will have to be the more physical team. Oline will have to play smash mouth Football. Pittsburgh has an aggressive Defense and Giants will have to use that against them with screens, draws, short passing game.
Andrew Thomas, Will Hernandez, Nick Gates, Kevin Zeitler, Cam Fleming on the staring unit... With Matt Peart, Spencer Pulley and Shane Lemieux to back them up...
Its an improvement no doubt, but still, is it enough? I don't believe so. To be fair I have to see that unit in some real game action first.
I would love for us to take the opening kickoff for a 7 + minute
I have more confidence in this staff to make the right corrections and adjust the game plan when necessary. Win or lose, I think the game will be close and we can sneak out a win.
Against this pass rush, I don't think the lets fool them stuff works, I think we'll see a lot of 2 tight end sets with plenty of motion and short simple routes for Jones. Watch Barkley in motion to try to get him in space. Keeping the down and distance manageable is a huge key, 3rd and 4 or 5 is not a bad situation for this offense, must avoid penalties and turnovers, and must make either 2 big plays on defense or a a big play on special teams, let the Steelers work the ball down the field, avoid giving up big plays. Starting out throwing a deep seam pass to try and keep them honest and from stacking the box would be perfect, and a great way to start, let Engram make a play and get right into their heads.

Everyone present at the Giants’ final practice of the week. Injury report with game statuses to be released this afternoon. WR Golden Tate (hamstring) the biggest name to watch.

Actually, when it comes to speed in 11 personnel, not such a long way to go. Just by 40 times, we're faster than KC. This probably included Coleman, but Board is pretty fast too. Link - ( New Window )
RE: Chiefs speed is only one aapect that makes them dangerous
They also have 1 of the best tight ends in football who works in that mid range after that speed cleara out the field..
They alao can run the football, without all 3 they are not as dangerous, everything worka off of each other..
You are also forgetting another critical aspect and that's the play calling. Andy and EB have some very creative plays that take advantage of that speed. Heck two plays come to mind the quick out to Watkins for the TD with two FBs lined out with him and the middle screen to Travis K. after the fake screen out wide which was preceded by the crazy motion from one of those fast WRs.
I heard a stat that they had pressure on 40% of QB drop backs and led the league in sacks.
The first 3 weeks I would think the Giants will roll the pocket, I lot of quick hitters and screen passes Oh and course establish the run.
Pittsburgh and SF might have the 2 best defenses in the league.
I am not expecting much to start the season I would be thrilled at 3-5

I'm afraid it's 'this'. Has been that for the past six seasons and the unknowns, as well as potential pluses, this season are the highest they've been during that time. While I hope nygiants16 is right, it all depends on whether we have a functional OL.
We may not know the answer to that until November with all the inexperience, growing pains, and lack of cohesion from not working together as a unit.

Joe Judge confirms Nick Gates will start at center.
I think this will be the beginning of a solid long career for Gates at center. This is obviously just a gut feeling but I believe that Gates will become a fan favorite similar to Seubert and Diehl.
I look forward to the potential OL future of LT Thomas LG Hernandez C Gates RG Lemieux RT Peart.
but also concerned if Toilolo doesnt play. Our tackles will most likely need help
Agreed we need Toilolo to do what he was signed to do. His blocking ability is needed more early in the season until the offensive linemen begin to get comfortable.
I do not want to see Tomlinson dress once this season. Kaden Smith will play an important role week one especially if Toilolo is out. He was a solid blocker last season and according to camp reports he improved noticeably this offseason.
That look like they are getting to the LOS at warp speed; snapping the ball and completing wide open SHORT passes!
K.C. Chiefs come immediately to mind. I think the Saints as well.
Oh, would I love to see the Giants offense operate like that. Get to LOS; complete high percentage passes; move the chains; wash-rinse-and-repeat.

Everyone expects the giants to play ball congrol and run the football because that is what Garrett did in Dallas..
Would love for them to come out monday night first drive spread out, faat pace and try and catch steelers off guard

Wheel route to Barkley who makes a 30 yard catch & run
You don't want those edge rushers isolated too long against the rookie LT and Fleming.

Working fast has nothing to do with team speed..
