So I called AT& T today to get better pricing for the Sunday Ticket and I started by saying that I wanted to cancel the ticket.
The cheery customer service woman said "OK. I'll take that off your account. Why do you want to cancel". I said doing the math, the price comes out to just under $400 and with other people getting deals for $200 and less, I felt that I was getting the short end of the stick. She responded by saying, "we do offer 6 payments, so you don't have to pay it all at once" and while I told her I understood, it still was $400 while others are paying far less.
Bottom line, the ticket was cancelled. I did get a retention offer to stay with DirectTV with $45 a month taken off the bill, so I'm saving over $500 a year on my current monthly price, but no ticket.
Question - sort of the same as the one in the thread below about streaming on the computer - what are my options to watch giants games? I'm just thinking I'll Reddit stream them like I do when out of the country - I won't have the discipline to wait until after the game is over to use GamePass. Any cheap ways to get the Red Zone channel?
When I was haggling with them in prior years, I did best when I immediately threatened to cancel DirecTV completely. I’d get transferred from “Bob in Bombay” to someone in the US with authority to make deals.
2. Random streams on the internet
Depending on what your viewing expectations are, I find neither of them are up to snuff if you are trying to stream to your TV. The quality just isn't there. If you are trying to stream from a computer screen it might be passable.
Being an out of local market fan, I have come to live with Directv being the only option until their contract is up.
A hail mary option would be anyone who lives local to NY who has you tube TV. If they add you to their YouTube network, you will be able to watch youtubeTV with local channels including giants. The only catch is that it will only work for a piece of the season because it will require you to log in from your local area about every 3 months.
Sorry that you and your sweetie got the Covid -- that sux -- but you are not off the hook for my sammich
Gidie,
We'd love to see you for a sammich. I'd love to introduce you to her. She's awesome and took me to a Giant's game last year. I got the seal of approval from BB26
you can get sunday ticket as a result (stream only for $99)

Some years I have had to call 3-4 times, but eventually they will throw you a bone.

DC - I can do that for you!! Let me check it out. I have a son and daughter at college, so I can get you my daughter's email/name if it works.
Thanks!

I got a good deal. I always go to "Customer Retention" - which is what I did. Getting $45 off a month is actually pretty damn good. It comes at the expense of the ticket, but we'll see what workarounds exist.

That would be great! Thanks!
I've seen worse deals...

but start off the entire thing with "Cancel service." Just keep saying cancel service until you get someone on the phone. This person will be in the Loyalty Department. This is where you get the deals. It is hit or miss and my understanding is that these people can give out a certain number of deals in their work week, so the timing with getting the right person matters. I got the Ticket Max on my first call this year. If you are friendly they will even chat it up and help you out - the girl I spoke with reminded me to call back in October when my current $50 off per month expires and said I can get a new offer.

Why? You can still buy the ticket and you have the $45 a month to pay for it. What am I missing?
I have not tried, but I have read that a static IP address installed on the router works. You might have to switch to nord vpn since they offer static IP option.
Alternatively, I might try this...theoretically, if you have an old phone or tablet, you could log into your youtube TV account and mail the device to a friend and/or family member in NYC area. If they log into youtubeTV in the NYC viewing area, it should reset the out of area timer and you should be able to get the local channels for giants games. They could keep the device at their place and just log in every time you get requested to verify your area.
Bad move. I wouldn't trust Dean with your daughter's info. Haha.
That more than offsets the ticket (will save $540 and spend $400 for NFL)
It is odd that so many have different results with them.
Last year I paid $300...who knows..??
She told me she thought next season will be the last year they offer it FWIW.
I have been a customer for 5 years.
I do not get red zone etc.
Being in Maine it is a must.
Just like I tell my wife..it's 3 hrs x 16 games=48 hrs I get a year to not be bothered. Sorry Giants games are sacred.
After that I went express vpn and gamepass Europe. If you can do the streaming direct tv college that is the way to go.

I'll probably Facebook message you the info

He's a married man now, and he's a fellow Pisano. I have people to keep that in line:)
Does anyone have apps that they use for the Giants Games?
I would like to watch the games outside with a few friends to simulate tailgating.
I lost my NY CBS/FOX this year so I got GamePass, and your thought is what I’m most worried about. But I want to be able to watch it on my TV, and through my PS4 this seemed like the best option for me. I still have to decide if I’m going to listen to the radio feed live(which is also part of (GP), and then watch afterwards, or just force myself to wait and watch. It won’t be easy, but seems like the best alternative for me. Good luck with finding your best solution.
I did the ebay thing for a couple of years until I got screwed by a seller last year and missed much of the first game I tried using it. That's when I discovered an easy way to qualify by researching college athletes.
I don't like Reddit streams unless I am out of the country and am desperate. I don't want to sit in front of the computer, or worry about a drop out and reconnecting all the time.
They probably think you are dickhead when you talk to them so not surprised you got the shaft. Maybe curse at them less or stop typing "LOL" as sarcasm.

Read your own thread title.
At least you can put your monthly savings to purchasing the Ticket or your sports bar tabs. Have fun...whoops, I mean LOL.
I think it has something to do with how much you've paid. Do you the top of the line package? Over years the $$ add up

Now you are just trying too hard. And the irony will be dripping the next time you say "that Googs guy must have gotten under your skin, huh".

Haven’t ordered it in about 5 years. Not sure how they select who to give it to.

Not top of line and I even cancelled HBO/Cinemax about a year ago. But they certainly have made their money off me over the years.
So for the rare Sundays I was home - someone on here suggested a way to watch games each week that was more reliable than streams.
And referenced above - Sunday Game Pass and VPN.
The NFL Sunday Game Pass streams real time (all games) on a per season or per week basis for non US residents. For a fee.
So, first you get a VPN. I used one called Private Internet Access (PIA). That is about $6 per month IIRC.
Then you start your VPN and set your location to be a country in Europe (could probably be anywhere i guess). I used UK or France usually.
Once you are connected via VPN then go to NFL website and you will notice it has a .eu on the end and the site looks a little different and you can sign up for NFL Game pass - I think it was $22 per week. But it lasts for two Sundays.
Anyway, once connected you can watch any game on your computer.
I connected a Chrome Cast so I was able to watch on my TV from my computer.
Worked great and made far more sense to me than spending a few hundred on the Sunday Ticket when I might be home 3 or 4 sundays - not counting the weeks where the Giants played at night or were otherwise my national game.

He clearly did.
As far as watching games I have Verizon and they stream limited games on the phone so I watch at work. Everything else is Reddit streams. The gamepass would be great for me.
I hope you and your family are well
LiP
Don't forget my $900
Fuck dude sorry to hear. Hang in there.
Thanks!!
Used the code and am watching redzone and games.
Also gave code to someone else so saved 40 bucks!
