3 catches, 22 yards.
65 million guaranteed at 18 million annually.
Obviously, this isn't working out well thus far in year two.
Given the state of the cap post COVID, a decision about their third year QB, former #1 pick overall, what the hell or the Brown's going to do here?
At his salary, he should be consistently putting up 1200/10 types of seasons. Ever since getting paid before the 2018 season, he is averaging a whopping 1043/5 over the past two years and for 2020, to get to 1200 yards, he would have to average 78 yards going forward.
What could they possibly get in a trade now for him?
Mayfield is in trouble this year if he doesn't step it up.
Eli at the tail end of his career and Baker leave little to be desired, sorry. I think it's more similar to Randy Moss when he played in Oakland.
OBJ doesn't look slow or anything out there. He can still play at a high level.
He did have 14 ypc last year, the volume was down - 133 targets vs his peak NYG targets of 169.
Seems like it just isn't a good fit there - coaching, the QB, them wanting to run more, etc.
He just isn't the same player.
How people can make firmly state conclusions on a kernel is more than I can comprehend (which is not saying all that much, but even so...).
He just isn't the same player.
This. He lost his explosiveness which allowed him to take slants to the house with the extra gear he had. He lost that gear. Now, he’s a good WR probably in the mold of Amari Cooper. That’s really the way I see him.
OBJ had 10 targets today and was completely taken out of the game by a CB on an island in man. He finished with 3 catches and 22 yards. This comes in a new system that is expected to get him in space and max his skill set. But is he the same player? What’s his trade value now?
Questions on regime’s overall process (mainly valuation of draft capital), but at what point do we get to say everyone who destroyed #Giants for OBJ trade were objectively wrong?
OBJ (+ his contract) and OV (+ his awful contract) FOR peppers, 1, 3, Zeitler.
It’s not even close.
If the #Giants had waited another year, and OBJ was in that Shurmur locker room for its final days with a QB change + a more spread the ball approach (eli targeted OBJ 165 times a year and he still hated being there by the end), I promise you his trade value would’ve plummeted.

Had a few drops and did not separate really well yesterday.

I agree. He lost that extra gear with that lower leg injury. It made it easier for Getts to cut ties coupled with the attitude. I thought he migh recover that extra gear.... but he has not to this point.
I'm sure he will have big games this year against lesser Ds.
I'm sure he will have big games this year against lesser Ds.
Of course, but I don't think that really applies here when looking at it as a whole. WR's have bad games all the time and there usually isn't 1 specific reason. Gameflow, drops, shitty throws, etc are all factors.
A lot of this is Mayfield, though - he has been absolutely terrible. That bandwagon filled up way too quickly. A lot of really bad throws.
Beckham is better than his numbers in Cleveland show, but Gettleman did the right thing in retrospect.
And yep, I defended Beckham here for a long time.
I'm perfectly willing to accept when I am wrong.
A few more game's like yesterday I see a mental implosion again like we have all seen before. I hope for his sake it does not happen but we will see I guess.
I think it was actually early 3rd quarter. He dropped a pass and then went in for an IV "so he could get going," according to whoever gave the sideline report during the game. I've never seen a guy need so many IV's during games as Beckham does.
Glad to see you are back, hope all is well on your end.
Nevertheless, he still showed a lot of the same bad traits the developed in his game. Frustration on the field when ball doesn't come his way or team loses, angst when talking with coaches on sideline, etc. Mayfield clearly didn't look good so this is going nowhere fast.
One noticeable moment was he came back along the sidelines to catch a ball on a broken play. But he stepped out of bounds before catching it so it was overturned. When he took his helmet off on the sideline an assistant coach was talking to him and he kind of lost his sh_t in responding, kind of like he was explaining it was his fault.
same people still think Rosen is a good QB. They cannot accept reality.

Some folks just can't admit when there were wrong. OBJ has joined a long list of WR's whose good years were with Eli. At this rate OBJ will be near the top of a lot of "biggest draft busts" lists.

I think we should make a team of Rosen, OBJ, Baker at DB, Trent Richardson at RB, and let Dodge be the kicker. We can build from there.

Add in the 1st round pick we are due from the saints for Shockey and we’re cooking!
Glad to see you are back, hope all is well on your end.
Thanks, buddy. Same to you!
Odell looked disinterested most of the game, it was pretty sad to see actually, he's just a shell of what he could have been.
I'm also putting money on Miami lol
Having said that it’s clear Mayfield is part of the problem too. He hasn’t developed as I expected he might. Cleveland is screwed.
Could you imagine if all 3 guys in D from the OBJ trade have a big Gaa me? Not too shabby
Those were all on the same drive. He then failed to get open from coverage by Peters and Humphrey. In the end, he had 10 targets with just 22 yards to show for it.

His ankle breaking cuts just aren’t there anymore. His routes and ability to separate just aren’t there. Pair that with an inaccurate QB and the inability to hydrate and you got trouble.
Never heard of anyone outside heavy drinkers needing an IV as often as he does.
Odell has/had a great catch radius.
That, along with his separation, isn't what it used to be.
