Week 1 every year results in these types of moronic reactions.

Week 1 rarely tells us anything useful. That's probably even more striking this year

Hopefully not by end of season. Judge judge over time.

set expectations folks. This is a tough team with a great defense. We should not be surprised if it is an ugly night. But should not lose hope, I feel we are on the right course.

and a young qb. what does common sense tell you. I would love to see 6 or seven wins but it could be worse.

I read too much into week 1. I think you need 6 games to figure out who is worst. But the Jets looked real bad

I have no idea. But I don't think it'll be the Giants. They haven't been the worst team in the league any of the last three terrible seasons, and they're getting better, not worse.

It's a long season. Some team that won yesterday will be in the hunt for Trevor Lawrence. Some team that lost yesterday will be in the hunt for the Super Bowl.

If one is going to shit the bed, this is the year to do it.

While folks are focusing on Dallas/Philly losing, the trifecta would have been Detroit/Jacksonville/Washington winning. While 2/3 isn't bad, Detroit would select TL at #1. I'm not so worried about the Bengals picking a QB @ 1 as they would receive a ransom in a trade up and they have their young QB.

Having said that, hoping for an 8-8 type of year.

this year should be about evaluating the Giants progress by quarters. Each 4 games should tell a story about the teams progress toward improvement. I'm not going to give too much weight to anything until the Giants have played 4 games... then we should be able to get our first real shot at defining the direction this team is going.

I don't think the Giants their first game for a while Looking a the schedule, I think they're gonna start 0-5. I think they'll go 6-10 with the arrow hopefully pointing upwards. The key to the season is the development of the QB and the coach as well as his coaching staff.

...the Giants looked like garbage in Week One. Even the 1990 team struggled much of the night against Philly in the opener.

If this team isn't too badly ravaged by injuries and illness, I expect marked improvement as the season progresses. Hoping for the best tonight, with fairly low expectations and a commitment not to draw many conclusions about the team's prospects.

they had a ton of roster turnover and were going up against the Bills who by many accounts seem to be better than last season where they made the playoffs.

Their defense actually played well, if they had any pass rush whatsoever, it's a closer game. Allen had a million years to throw back there, and he is able to scramble really well.

Expecting a lot tonight. May just be me but I fee like the giants are not typically good Monday night.

I think our offense is above average but going up against an above average defense and our defense is a huge question mark going up against a solid squad that’s has cohesion.

Think it’s gunna wind up being a shoot out and we loose or we just get crushed lol.

It’s a long season and although the Giants record may not reflect it this year, they will most likely be a better team by years end. You can’t go by records, unless you follow Bill Parcells philosophy that you are what your record says you are?! Our schedule is brutal, we have a first time HC, a new scheme on offense and defense, new staff, many young players playing key roles, no OTAs, no Pre-Season games, etc. If the Giants can weather the storm, first quarter of the season, I think you’ll see a markedly improved team.

My question is this.....when was the last time the Giants won the first game of the season? Without looking, I bet it’s been a little while.

I understand we are not a historically bad team.
Just saying now ain't exactly time to be proud of how our franchise is historically better than other franchises.

Haha, I am not surprised. I also went in 2017 on Xmas Eve when the Giants got shut out (23-0) and some of the Cardinals fans there were acting as though they'd won a Super Bowl against the then 2-12 NYG. Brutal.

half of the teams you mentioned will likely have the opposite outcome next week so then its a bunch of .500 teams, a few of which will keep losing.

There's a few bad teams, we will know for certain after the first 4 or 5 games.

the game last night. Miami played well, thought it was more obvious the Pats aren't going to miss a beat. Using Cam they way they did you can get very good level of play from your QB when you take the reigns off Cam. Will he stay healthy for a year? Well even if he doesn't they got a guy that we still know nothing about and he's proven he can identify those 2nd round QBs. Makes a ton of sense to keep him on bench though because what they are getting from Cam is pretty damn good until he gets hurt.

Ecciples only by a historic 2021 and 2022 and then slowly back down hill as far as a special standpoint. We are finally going to see potential of Barkely. Fluke injury last year and people are forgetting how special he is. Marc Colombo, Jason Garret, and the resoures thrown at the offensive line this is the first year its' going to look competent and the arrow is pointing them from on futures aspect.

I wonder if it's ownership....I don't think they've done a thing since Woody has owned them. Last good season was when Parcells was there.....and they were winning the AFC Championship at halftime, I believe.

think Shumur's in game adjustment woes coupled with a completely toxic personality (something Shurmur didn't have).

Darnold isn't getting better. They haven't really been able to develop young talent. The OL is as bad as ours looked in recent years. WR's are bad. No pass rush, etc.

They may find a groove and play well, anything can happen. But their roster is bottom tier and their HC is probably the worst in the league.

Yea I don't necessarily think the Jets have the worst roster, not by a long shot, but they are going to be the loudest losers this season if this keeps up. IT will get ugly. But they can still salvage things its so early. Problem is, they have no dynamic offensive weapons and it's not like that OL is battle tested. I smell blood.

2 and a half games into the 2007 season, the Giants looked like the absolute worst team in the league. We saw how that season ended.
