Just a pre-game random thought

Beef Wellington : 9/14/2020 3:45 pm
How I wish the NFL would adopt BBI’s policy of no politics! I want to watch the Giants not a three ring circus.

The thrill is gone. Thank the Lord for the memories.
Thanks Beef,

Very cool!
This is why we have remotes ...

Keep 1 finger on mute, 1 on jump ... if you got DVR, you can always come back and see what, if anything you missed. The weather channel is usually void of politics.
Me too.

your beef, wellington.

Ok, I don't but I did want to take a moment and extol the virtue of the properly placed comma.

Mute & Fast Forward

I had to do it before every game yesterday
I think you're confusing...

Social justice with politics.

Question...were the other shows of support for cancer awareness, military forces, first responders, moments of silence for someone who has passed, also things that turned you away or fell into the three ring circus category?
Cool.

Thanks.
Nice job of adding politics

I'm not with the OP on this, but tbh, all of those things you mentioned, I could do without (other than if they were commercials).
Put the game on at 7:15 instead of 7.
bceagle05 : 9/14/2020 4:12 pm : link
Crazy, I know, but just try it.
I mean sometimes it's cool..like at the Army-Navy game
Bill L : 9/14/2020 4:12 pm : link
but I've never been a huge anthem is integral to the game person and would be more than content if all of the sudden the referee blew a whistle and the ball got kicked.
i used to think that way
djm : 9/14/2020 4:16 pm : link
but the NFL made this bed by getting in bed with the military and monetizing the national anthem. I really can't blame players or people from feeling fed up with things. NFL keeps printing money and they are reeling in urban kids with these military promos. It's all bullshit.

All of them, FULL OF SHIT. Don't like people protesting? Clean shit up. This country needs some tough and honest love/hate right now. ONly way we evolve is by looking in the mirror.
Thanks for posting about not watching!
sb from NYT Forum : 9/14/2020 4:17 pm : link
Maybe next time go all-in and not post about not watching!

I am DVRING it as always and won't start watching until 8 or so when my daughter goes to bed. Win win. I just don't look at my phone until I catch up.
I dont see the big deal, its helpful.

I used to really hate African Americans and Mexicans (Hispanics in general if we're being honest). Wasnt crazy about Jews either. Then I saw the endzones in the WFT-Birds game yesterday. It said "end racism". I gotta admit, they make a pretty compelling argument. And I wouldn't have had that epiphany if the NFL didnt become virtuous when public opinion shifted enough for it to impact them financially.

What you desdain as "POLITICS" are a certain segment of the society's Nightmarish Reality. Those players and people that look like them do not have the luxury of playing the Ostrich like you.

By the way the Ostrich buries it's head in the sand while the trunk shows.

I forgot where I heard that "Silence is complicity". Remain blessed.🙏🏼🙏🏼
Why do people that are so upset
Ned In Atlanta : 9/14/2020 4:22 pm : link
By black athletes who they’ll gladly watch for their entertainment advocate for causes that impact their communities? Also, I love how everyone who is so slighted by it is required to make a big attention grabbing announcement that they won’t be watching. Go Giants

Let me guess, you're one of "those" people who hates commas. You have an deep seated hatred of the oxford comma too.

+1

It’s not politics until somebody calls politics.

Social justice is just that.
If you struggle with the difference then yes you should mute it skip it or fast forward it Because it’s likely over your head anyway

How 5 minutes out of a 3+ hour sporting event can ruin someone's enjoyment of the event.
Yeah

Just shut up and play! No politics in sports like in the old days! Was it political when Jesse Owens crushed it at Hitler’s Olympics? Was it political when Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised gloves fists on the podium in 68? Was it political in 72 when the Israeli athletes got kidnapped? Was that nice Cacious Clay kid political? Was it Political in 80 when we beat the Red Army in 80 and draped Craig in the flag? Was it political in 91 when during the Gulf War we had Whitney lip synch the anthem and jets fly over? Was it political when they salute to service annually?

And so no politics now! Same as it ever was!
